THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I set up a time to meet with him to buy it and then he wasn't home. I haven't given up but it's frustrating.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Quick question before I order parts: When doing the AX-15 internal to external slave swap, does the later-year master cylinder bolt right up to the firewall and hook up to the clutch pedal OK? Or was the clutch pedal assembly different on later years?

I was thinking I would just order the pre-bled 1999 master/slave/hydraulic line set but I just wanted to make sure that would bolt into my jeep before I spend $100+ on it...
not sure if it's in this thread http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/external-slave-swap-1138860/ but maybe

Thanks dude. You going to be Dundy's date at the Chciken M&G? I owe you a high five.

Mayhaps...depends if I'm let off my leash.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think I have to order a part from Summit Racing to use here at work

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Jeff, thanks for that link. I went through that thread, and one that was linked to there... and then another one that was linked... etc. In the end it sounds like you can use the external master/slave/hose assembly on a '93 XJ but it requires drilling out holes and such... and other links I found were discussing TJ installs so I'm not sure how that translates to an XJ. I'll just post for a (hopefully) quick and painless reply over in OEM tech and I'll probably be emailing or calling you in a bit.

Is my truck going to be stupid annoyingly loud with a 4" straight pipe/muffler delete?

Is my Mustang going to be stupid annoyingly loud with a 2.5" straight through mid-mufflers and straight pipes out back? Probably not.

I'd say you should be OK but that's just me.

Well, the tailpipe fell off about 2 years ago. So it's been the factory exhaust, minus tailpipe, just dumping under the cab/bed somewhere. As long as it's not much louder inside than it is now (which is kind of loud), I don't care what it sounds like outside the truck.

The MBRP kit has a 'muffler delete' section of pipe that's easy enough to remove and replace with a real muffler later if I decide I don't like it. But right now, with a $850 turbo pending, a turbo-back exhaust for $279 shipped is pretty appealing.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No muffler will drone, the 03 CTD I borrowed for NACfest 2011 has 4" with a muffler and sounds great. He used to have it straight piped and it would drone often enough to be an annoyance. Still sounded good straight piped but pretty loud. I'd pay the few bucks more for the muffler.

I dunno, all I know is when Scott had his straight piped it seemed to me like it droned. He put a muffler/resonator on and sounds great now IMO

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the mbrp kit has a resonator on it to stop the dreaded dronifications

the resonator is the "muffler"...straight pipe kits are straight pipe, nada mas.

Yeah...it's this:

vs. this:

It's only ~$40 more for the one with the resonator...I should probably just do that.
