THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My dad and I were talking, he said if I buy the bender he'll buy the plasma. Where's that link to Colin, Bill, and Travis' bender? I would need the pre drilled stuff because I suck at measuring and drilling in the right spots, nor do I have a drill press anymore/yet.

Nevermind. Found it in bookmarks. http://www.gottrikes.com/Tube_Bender.htm

Best $40 I ever spent you can borrow it if you'd like I'm actually gonna be getting some diffrent pullys for it so its not drilling at light speed

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm on the hunt for a stand up with variable speeds. The main reason I sold it was to get bench space back and motivate me to get a stand alone unit. I got my bench space back but my dad keeps bring shit home that is killing floor space

On that note, anyone need a big compressor or forklift thingy? PM me and I'll get pictures/info tonight for you. Compressor is a 2 rotary motor with a decent tank and all kinds of filters and driers.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

what's the forklift thingy? And how much do you want for it?

I always want useless stuff, but I have to beat Billy to it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm planning a 100% 1/4" wall box tube frame for it right now. My estimate of weight is ~470lbs for the frame, and I think I can cut 150-200 out by removing the old frame in the process. Might go with 3/16" wall instead, just going from a 10ga U-channel with an 18ga floor spotwelded across the top 1/2" out from the walls of the channel to a fully boxed and resistance welded tube frame should make it way more than strong enough. Yes, I will be fish plating all butt welds and gusseting the shit out of it.

How is this getting connected to what's left of the truck?

Rated for 1000 pounds at 30 inches, but the forks go up about 5 feet. It's all manual with foot pumps for the hydraulics. My Dad is going to put it on CL for $400 so offer us some dollars and we can figure something out. We used it to unload a tire machine so it works with a load on it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm thinking about picking up a black bull drill press from tractor supply when I get back from CA unless someone knows they are shit.. I mean, it seems to have decent reviews, 1/2 horse, 16 speeds (210-3840 RPM). $200 (damnit, looks like the price went up recently). I figure I could buy used for less or get a new one for a bit more.

booger welds. I'm going to build the 2x6 rocker replacements onto it before dropping the cab back on, so I'm planning on cutting the rockers out to fit them and then welding that down. If I do a cage, it'll be a simple interior one, A pillars, B pillars, and a cross brace in the back plus a halo over the roof. Also probably going to end up with a removable brace going across the engine compartment to make the front end / new coil buckets a little stiffer.

I want to be able to beat the absolute shit out of this thing without it breaking.

hmmm, that looks like it requires a cement floor to be useful. shit.

Adam isn't that a clutch pilot bearing? I thought he was looking for the bearing between the mainshaft and intermediate shaft.
