Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Finally made it home. Big thanks to Sam, Ken, and everyone else who helped me get the Jeep back on the road and make it safely home.

Sam hasn't quite made it home yet :shhh:

Currently sitting on the side of rt78, jeep is boiling coolant out of the overflow. Nice! Any ideas what's wrong with it

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My jeep spent lots of time off the rev limiter today did lots of stupid things and found out wheeling a stock jeep is a ton of fun!... Driving home I noticed a slight vibration and a pull to the right, drove all the way to the last rest area before the GW Bridge stopped and found a stick jammed into the bead of my pass front tire.. got that guy out and the jeep drove like new minus a shock and muffler!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just went outside to find my front right tire flat -_- guess the beads still leaking.. worst part is my powerstrokes in my shop thats 10 miles away, had to throw the spare on

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Got a new steering box and TRE in on the Jeep, steering is much better. Still have that weird wobble or vibration at 55-60mph. And no Colin, it is not the tires, I swapped with my dad's wrangler today and it still did it. Or either driveshaft, as I have no front in and a different rear shaft.

I would have stopped if i knew it was overheating, the gauge read slightly above 210, then all of a sudden shot up to like 260, i immediately pulled over, let it cool down, drove another five miles, pulled over, no boiling, did that twice more.

Heres the awesome part, as i was driving down 78, the hood latch relased and flew up, cracked the cowl nicely, and put some new sweet dents on my hood, then looked down and saw my radiator cap was gone, got pissed smahed the jeep with a ball pin hammer.

150 dollars later i was home with my jeep on a tow truck.

Heres a video.

this happened to me, except my upper rad hose literally blew up as a result. I replaced the thermostat and my mechanical fan clutch, filled it back up, and it hasn't given me a problem since then. I do carry a spare thermostat, thermostat gasket, WP, WP gasket, and both rad hoses now though :roflmao:

I am pretty sure I pulled into the campground behind you last night. I was driving the white piece of shit MJ on 33s.

No problem dude, glad you made it. So did I (finally.) What happened to Sam? Does he need parts? I have anything he needs off an 88, 91, 94, 96, or 99 in my back yard if he needs emergency parts/tools drop-off somewhere...

I finally got home, picked up the MJ bed from MjTjNJ on the way back. It actually drove pretty OK with that on there (we flipped it upside down and C-clamped it to the top of my existing bed.)

I think that's about it, I didn't break anything cool this time, just a bunch of rusty ass sheetmetal.

It looks like the dirty POS has some big changes coming now if I want it to last. By big, I mean I'm about to order about a thousand bucks worth of 1.25" heims and diff covers on ruffstuff... and I'm pretty sure I'll be taking the 5 ton across town on Wednesday to pick up some box tubing.

Oh, and I have a pic for Mark as soon as I recharge my phone a bit.

My interested is piqued.

I was almost to the campground and suddenly realized I was driving in a line of mini coopers.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Really wish I had my car back. Don't feel like riding to work this morning. I would much rather be warm.

Definitely getting that window back on the rail and bringing the Jeep to my buddy for inspection tomorrow. At least then I can be kindof warm.
