It's absolutely dead here so I'm bailing a little early. My boss is working from home so he won't care and I have to get back to the house and try to finish the Jeep before 6 so I can use it to pick my brother up from the train... otherwise I have to find a friend with a car that I can borrow to get him which might be hard.
Hopefully everything works as planned.

I am shocked this thread isn't locked for rocktoberfest yet.
Time to drive home from NYC and finish building my jeep, then drive to PA and beat the hell out of it.

I stopped by the storage lot on the way home, apparently the post office lost my sept bill and I forgot to pay in oct. Whoops
The owner's cool though and didn't even realize I hadn't paid until I brought it up to him and he checked (which is when I learned that sept was missing too).
At least I don't have to worry about picking my brother up. Off to the garage.

Last night I cut a hole in the perfectly good frame of my friend's 2005 golf and patched it so he can go lowar. The real VW guys are nuts. "Hold on, this structural thing is in the way, let's just cut a clearance channel out of it" Ok, it's your car buddy.

wanted to see if i had gotten all the correct parts, take a few measurements see what i need to do to make it all fit, plus need to feel like this was going some where
who wants to well the truss on the d44? also need someone to weld teh mounts on the 8.8 and gear it properly

Things I learned today: A) I can chirp 2nd gear with 35x12.50s B) when your window starts making noise you should probably fix that before it falls down into the door :doh:
Need to check my alignment tomorrow and see if a bit more toe in will reduce the dead spot in the steering a bit (I know a bit of a dead spot is expected with the 1-ton OTK setup so I'm not expected to get rid of it all together). Also going to check the tie rod ends and make sure my reaming was OK and nothing is wandering in their holes causing the dead spot. Otherwise the Jeep is driving remarkably smooth and travels perfectly straight down the road.
