Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Got the forks and stopped by Razee's in North Kingstown. Got new cheek pads for my helmet. Old ones were worn out.

Now what to do...

BRB

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Halfway done with my oui course today, huzzah. Now to go grind/weld and get that bracket squared away. Worst part is that I have to pull the pitman arm again, reaming that XXXXer out while it's on the Jeep is proving to be more of a PITA than I want to deal with.

Drill press + vise = let her rip.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

thank, but no thank you.

looking around in the back of my work at a million oem samples they've collected for about 15+ years. I get all excited finding parts to only realize they're for export models or totally more boring than I expected applications. one day I hope to find something cool & useful.

I don't have a drill press so I'm just going to pull the pitman arm, throw it in the vice, and have at it by hand like I did everything else.

Idk whats wrong with me but I retapped another piece of tube for the tie rod since one end was off center on my first try  I just didn't pay enough attention I guess. So this 2nd time it went in straight as an arrow but both TREs that I tried are still hanging up while threading in. I know the tolerance on the tube is a bit tighter than spec so I may sand the threads down a TINY bit to see if that helps but :dunno: the RHT TRE threads in fine but the LHT TRE has given me trouble every time I tap for it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How do I manage to lose a fawking TRE? Luckily I have a spare to use for the time being but wtf.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Case is almost back together, the chain in the 231 I got from Ross felt a bit loose for comfort so I'm gonna rob the chain off my other 231, but ran out of air in the co2 tank for the pinion nut.

Re-using the SYE in the busted t-case so thats a plus

big monkey wrench + breaker bar is how i did it a few times.

That or retorque it when it's connected to the driveline and in the vehicle. Not the right way, but it's definitely worked for me before.

I never found a pinion/yoke nut I couldnt do with just a 18" pipe wrench and breaker bar.....until I did the 14b. That thing took 3' pipes on each one in order for me to break it free.
