THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've had my truck in Inman Square a few times, never had a problem. I know it's not Boston proper but since no one's talking about anything else right now, I figured I'd share my irrelevant story.

Ken, I have an external slave bellhousing from a '94 YJ 4-cylinder, I think I have the fork & slave for it too.
Thanks, but I'm trying to go the other direction, and just not sure if the trans in a 95 is an AX15 or an AX5 or what, and what I have to swap to make it work with a 6cyl.

I have done city driving with the 5 ton in Worcester, Pittsburgh, and Hudson. Pittsburgh had some really narrow streets and some construction zones and my GPS took me through Kelley Square with it in Worcester... yeah people just slammed on their brakes and let me go where I wanted :scottm:

I wouldn't want to do city driving in a truck that can take body damage though. Between the sheer intimidation factor and the bulletproof body on the 5 ton city driving really isn't that bad.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so adam, does this mean you'll wheel your jeep at rocktoberfest? or are you just gonna put around and watch everyone else drive over stuff?

Sure. The drop brackets and D30 were the only things that i'm worried about. Now the DB's are gone and the D30 is still in one piece after Fall Crawl so i'm more confident in it now that it's open.

I duno how many times you've seen me wheel but it's nothing like Colin, Chris, Sam, etc. Don't expect insane full throttle assaults, especially 400 miles from home. When I wheel closer to home i'm more throttle friendly.

Why don't you fix your Jeep and "wheel" it?

I feel the same way

Wow, that was kinda scary. Found out the issue with my pinion, turns out the crush sleeve wasnt starting to crush. I had to max out my 20Ton press before the sleeve started to crush, the hyrdo line for the ram started to weep and the pressure gauge was going into the red.

But 14 bolts are so much easier to regear, why is it taking you so long?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

why is it taking you so long?

Cause I have no idea what Im doing!!

I was actually on the right track yesterday, I just didnt keep apply more force to the pinion bearings because I thought something was wrong and binding. After double checking everything, I found I just needed to press the sleeve more.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

this just in. Ross was afraid to apply more force to something AND IT WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

This Jeep is really starting to piss me off, now my damn hatch wont open.

Fold down rear seat, move entire toolbox foward, yank off hatch trim cover, pull little rod inside, hatch opens.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Here, look at these.

Original build sheet. It was under the carpet on the passenger floor

I just need to paint the 2x6, clean up some wiring in the interior, and re-install the carpet, seats, etc. and she's done.

Boner.

I drove my truck into Boston like two times.

I would NEVER want to own a truck living in the city.

I've driven the Honcho in through the city plenty of times. It's gay, but better than driving a mini cooper, anywhere.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Drive downtown, like down huntington ave towards fanueil hall.

I have no idea where I am when I'm in Boston. I didn't mean just to my dad's shop when I said I've done it though, my dad's shop doesn't count. I've had it in small congested roads a little bit in the more northern part and in the Wentworth area.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'd be lying if i said I knew what fanueil hall actually is. Is it that place with all the restaurants? Don't answer, I don't care.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I wish I had today off. I would love to lay back down for another couple hours of sleep and then melt some metal later in the day.

I got a text from my kid brother this morning that he was coming home from camping and is locked out of the house. I'm tempted to email my boss that I need to go work from home for the afternoon so I can let him in even though my father should be home soon and can unlock the house.

happened to me, try pushing in and up really hard on the sheetmetal about 8 inches to the right of the handle while opening it. Then pull the trim and adjust the rod Ross mentioned. I can't believe I let that bother me for a year before fixing it.
