Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Travis, want to drag a set of wheels along with you to Gretchens this weekend?

I can most likely do that. I might be taking a ride up to the truck dealer after work tomorrow, I could grab them from your house on my way back maybe. I do have plans with Mia at like 8 though so I might be cutting it close. If I can squeeze in the slight detour though, I'd be fine with that. Or if you can somehow get the wheels to my house then I'll definitely have no problem bringing them there for you

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'll tell that little brat its okay if you're late.

Lmk, they're free to the dude but I can't make it this weekend. The Jeep keeps having more issues with it so it's getting parked until the 44 goes in and I fix the rear brakes.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

not looking forward to sitting at the dmv aftetr work... dumb.

I paid someone I work with to go register my truck for me so that A) I didn't have to sit there, and B) I didn't have to find a place to park downtown

alright. If it's alright with you I'll give you a call when I'm on my way back and let you know how I'm doing time-wise

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The bearing was $44 and I did the machining of the tall hex nut myself. If someone wants to take this and run with it, I'd be glad to get rid of it cheap...just wanna see it go to good use. I believe it'll work on an XJ or a Durango box; the nut is the same 1-5/16" size.

Chris, is there a time limit on when that "good use" needs to actually start? If so I think I could be interested.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Chris - you might know of something for this. I need to decode the output from a quadrature encoder and preferably would be feeding the signal direct to a PC / embedded system via i2c, SPI, or USB. Know of any off the shelf products for this? off the shelf angle sensors that decode straight from input shaft to i2c/spi/usb are also cool.

What you're looking for is called a boner.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'll be here all night buddy.

Mind me asking why you;re going back up there?

When I bought the truck there was no spare under the bed, and part of the verbal agreement was that they'd get one for me. I said I didn't care if it was a used tire and a steel wheel- I just want to have something. But when I picked it up they had forgotten about it. So he just said to swing by sometime next (now this) week and in the meantime he'd scrounge one up. I've been busy every night but I want to try and make sure I've got it for this weekend, only because according to Murphy's law, since I'll be towing that'd be the time I'd get a flat

I already have one of those and it's not really going to fit into a USB port

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Steering leak fixed  still binding on the way to full right lock though. Added another washer between the box/frame and that didn't change anything. I'm definitely inclined to believe it's binding prior to the steering box itself so I'll just lure my buddy over here with beer tomorrow night and put him to work. He owes me a transmission swap after last weekend so he better not bitch about drinking my beer and turning the steering wheel. :D Now time to clean up and watch some hockey.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so apparently in 4 years i never had snap rings in my upper ball joints. and to get the ball joint out i had to cut the knuckle.

this just goes to show that snap rings are useless.

however i had to weld my lower ball joint in place on the new knuckle. it fit loosely

the set of chevy/fsj knuckles I just bought from Ben H didn't have the snap ring on the upper BJ either.

PS: never buying rust belt knuckles again. These ones are damn near rust free, the ones I bought from Colin are crusty as shit, the right one moreso than the left. Right one is so rusty I was almost afraid to put it on an axle till I compared actual metal thickness remaining to the rust-free set :roflmao:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Managed to get through to comcast and actually get my problems resolved quickly and in time to catch the end of the opening ceremonies and see the start of the game.

Doesn't make me hate comcast any less.

Are relays supposed to rattle like a bad lightbulb? I have no clue
