THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm gunna order 7100's all the way around ffor black jeep. What valving should I go with for the rear? Ill probably go 360/80 for the fronts..

Call and talk to them.

I doubt anyone in this thread can help you very much and tell you exactly what you need.

360/80 feels awesome in the front of my MJ, but I've only ever gotten fast like 2-3 times. Most of it wasn't even that harsh terrain either.

Can't get a good hold on the rear yet since it pretty much lays on the bumpstops at ride height. I might trim an inch off the extensions.

Oh Nick's wedding?

Sweet. I'm trying to think of a sweet underbody mounting location for the go-pro when I haul ass. I honestly might buy one of those cameras over the winter.
Uh, nope haha. One of my room mates from college.

I really want one too, epecially if I ever start doing track days at Loudon. They're sweet little gadgets.

The underbody stuff is cool, but you almost need 3. On the hood or roof looking forward, in-cab, and underbody.

I worked on race cars for 18 years!

275/78 is the universally accepted basic rear leaf valve. PM randomthoughtsrace and joel will get back to you quicker if you want to ask.

what springs are you running?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

damn mansfield cops (no I didn't get pulled over but I'm still pissed).

That guy who pulled me over back in May for running a red... yeah the same guy was back right down the road from where he pulled me over waiting to get someone else for 'running a red'. Just sitting on his motorcycle behind a car in a parking lot watching the intersection for someone who goes through the light on yellow (like 99% of people do once in a while).

I really respect most cops but really?!? that's a damn dirty tactic to just farm for tickets and I find it disgusting. There are better things that my taxpayer money could be going to than paying some fat old cop to sit in a dunkin doughnuts parking lot watching an intersection and ruining someones day for essentially nothing.

:smsoap:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just confirmed my suspicions that it's most likely the rear output shaft end play that's causing rear drive to slip out. Thread on pirate was talking about it.

I'll check out how loose it is when I pull the rear driveshaft off to repair it.

My vw's serp belt chirps at idle and it's not a squeal, just a little scratchy noise. Changing the belt did nothing.

Ready set go.

I was thinking of getting one if I ever do track days but I think one or two would be enough. Don't need to get all professional like with 3+ cameras :laugh3:

i want one for them drunken nights i wish i could remember. i would mount it to a hat.
If I had one of those at my buddy's bachelors party we might have been able to explain the random huge bruise on his best man's face the next morning :gee:

When you had the belt off did you check for play/noise in every pulley?
Beat me to this. I would check for play in the pulleys. If they pulleys are all tight then check the belt and check all grooved pulleys for any signs of burs on pulleys or cuts in the belt or anything which might cause friction. If all that checks out put some belt dressing on it and see if that changes anything.

Nope :gee:

The old belt looked totally fine and it didn't used to do this. But I'll make that my next step.

What is belt dressing?

Not sure where Bill got his but I got mine from poly when I got my seats. They gave me a pretty good deal on the whole package.

Pretty sure it was the 3" x 50" long harnesses with just harness pads. Wrap-around mounting.
