THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

For a Honda, probably like $25.
For a German or Italian car, probably $225.
The ones for my car are about $60 each :kissyou:

ALL TECHNOLOGY FROM GERMANY IS EXPENSIVE.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Must be nice.

It's not the computer that keeps me awake, and reading would be even worse, as I'll read a whole novel in one sitting sometimes. It's the fact that when 10-11:00 rolls around I get a serious second wind for the day.

I could force myself to try and sleep then, sure...tried it before. And I spend 4 hours staring at the ceiling wondering why I'm even bothering.
same, except I am usually at least a bit sleep deprived, so unless I JUST got my second wind I can pass out whenever I want. It's weird, I usually operate right on the line between "I can stay up another 20 hours if I feel like it" and "hell with this I'm going to sleep RIGHT NOW"

You just got a nice DD, the jeep doesn't have to do that anymore.

I had stock axles with 33's and two lockers, and running not-hardcore stuff and daily driving it I still broke axleshafts and had issues with balljoints and unit bearings. I know I'm building a smaller rig again but I would never put a stock dana 30 back under anything with any intentions of wheeling it and expect it to be magically maintenance free.

WTF do you need besides a couple steering components?
I'll beat the hell out of dana 30s all day every day, they are so cheap to replace... and I carry a goofy number of spare parts for them. I have to go a little easier on my current one than I did on the last because now it's locked :(

That's the other reason I'm not fixing mine. Even if I were to pull the motor, drill out the bolts, put it back together...it's still got that mystery overheating issue.

It was better with the new fan, not great, but unfortunately the only place I can really load it long enough to see if it overheats or not is on a trailride or during a race. Which becomes an expensive trial-and-error at this point.

I swear this all started when I hooked the temp gauge back up. It never overheated before that, even hauling ass at 4k RPM for 20+ minutes at the Hammers.

BTW, speaking of magical. How much do you think I can get for my OEM steering box spacer? It's pretty much the only factory part left on my XJ and it's still in one piece, so it must be magic.
Mine was in one piece till my steering box unbolted itself and hammered the spacer to pieces while I was bombing around in 2 feet of snow (I put the bolts back in and kept going.) I still kept using it till I put the durango box in, I just had to thread each piece onto the bolt individually :gee:

True, but you also accept that it's gonna require work to keep it going. That's the tradeoff.

Oh, speaking of breaking stuff.

Feel free to steal my jeep and beat the hell out of it, if I can't break it you probably can't either.

Still an open offer? :D

Unfortunately, maybe not. I scrapped that jeep, I didn't care about it at all. I actually have to drive this one home somehow :roflmao: and I care about the sheetmetal, even though it's covered in dents and rust.

If you can find a way to beat the hell out of it without putting dents in the body and without making it undriveable, sure :spin1:

I almost took him up on this last weekend. The problem is that I don't want to fix it in the event that I do break it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It's yours for nothin if you want it.

The sides are hacked up to fit the tubework and a few of the studs that hold it to the rad support are broken/stripped.

You probably don't want it.

Is you not familier with the NAC Wall of Fame?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

XXXX it, why not.

Maybe I'll take the 5.9 ZJ on a road trip, haven't stretched it out in a while and I'd like to at least feel like I still fit in with you Jeep idiots.

Let me know the details but unless your dumb club is dumber than I thought, I'll cya there Friday @ 3.

SEE YOU THERE! I'll hopefully be there by then but I might be working on my Jeep Friday morning so I may be delayed a few hours. Nothing new :anon:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ok so I'm not planning on a 440 swap until probably like the spring or something, but NV4500s are extremely rare to come across cheap. The cheapest I've seen is $500 and it needs 5th gear fixed usually.

Since IDGAF about having OD if I gear it correctly, I was thinking about NP435 to NP203/205 doubler. Yes heavy as XXXX, but it would be cheap as hell too. I'd rather not go out and blow $1000+ on an NV4500 and then another $3000 on an Atlas if I can avoid it.

I did some playing around and in High / Low I could get up to 70 mph in 4th gear at around 6500 rpm, and in Low / Low I'd have ~140:1.

Oh and guys are running NP435s with larger input shafts (1 3/8) with no issues behind built big blocks.

543ci stroker. NO BALLS

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin, you don't need 140:1 behind a 440.

But it would be awesome and result in broken things.
