THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

carmelo i got one in mine, aint like its goin anywhere soon, i can scource one from a late 80's xj if that be better

Why would you take your steering shaft out? I'm pretty sure I can use any jeep shaft that bolted to a saginaw box. I know an xj will be the right length though. What I need it for is my steering shaft has a u joint up top near the column but a rag joint at the steering box. The lower shaft slides out and you can slide the lower half of an xj shaft in to get a u joint instead of the shitty rag joint. It's the final piece to my steering.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Stayed in a hotel in St. Johnsbury, played a softball tournament in Rygate/Groton area. The gas station across from one of the fields got wiped out, all of the tar was gone and you could see the tanks that were underground, and both of the fields had been completely under water last week.
Yeah, the area around St. J is nice. I'm about another hour north of it.

Did you come back down I-91S? There was some good (well bad) washouts once you got to & past the White River area.

How did you do in the tournament?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

They had to be for a some small axle. They're like 7/16 u bolts and I had to widen them like 1.5" for them to work but now the hold my springs to my axle just fine. I'll pick up real u bolts later but jeff doesn't have any.
I am fairly certain they are like, skycrapper ubolts for an 8.25 or something. They came with the 8.25 I bought from Jordan I think? I looked at them and realized they were thinner than the ones I stretched 1/8" of an inch on my XJ, so I got ruffstuff 5/8" bolts when I installed the axle.

Glad something out of my random pile of junk came in helpful!

If you can bring me one to fall crawl that would be supertits. The Honcho will miss fall crawl but i'm still going to be working on it every weekend to hopefully make rocktoberfest or atleast be a frequent wheeler this year.

I'm in the same boat. I won't be able to do any weekend trips until 2012 due to my Saturday morning 'classes' but XXXX yeah I'm feeling good right now and look forward to 2012. Your shit is prolly closer than mine and you're probably less lazy but I have more time since I can't do shit for a few months.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My u bolts plates look like a limp dick with the bolts tight so Ihave to take them off, add some bracing, weld bump stops to them, and my shock mounts. Then I should be ready for FC. Probably start packing tomorrow afternoon before work and majority of Thursday will be packing and giving it a once over.

What time is everyone getting up there Friday? I am shooting for noon o'clock

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

tighten puller, hit arm with hammer, repeat till arm comes off, just tightning the shit out of stuff is silly, and why the XXXX pickup a brand new hitler mobile?

i've done this before, i've never seen one of the tools break. i hit it with a hammer a feel times before and during pulling it. the seal in the box is already pretty wasted, if i heat it it'll probably just melt out.

and i love vws, theyre mad fun to drive. and its brandy new so it has a warranty = i dont have to touch it. this dumb jeep has been fighting me every step of the way.. i literally had a probably fix in my hand to drive it to work today and the damn puller broke.

Came back down 91, there was one or 2 sections where it turned into one lane and the tar was all eaten up, other than that the highway wasn't too bad. Going over the bridges you could look down and see the rivers caused quite a bit of destruction.

As for the tournament, eh not so great.
