mine lost 5 lbs the 2 weeks after we broke up and since then gained 15
I'd say she's up 10ish... But wtf do I know. She was already up 15-20 when we broke up too.

I'm going to hell... I can just feel it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

16 miles? Buy a bike if all else fails. You'll be ripped for the ladies and it costs like 200 bucks.

If not, I have a red 98 XJ you can borrow. It needs a heater core (parts come with it), maybe a new motor (I have one, just haven't installed it), and carpet/exhaust (I have the carpet, don't have the exhaust.) Oh and a wiring harness for the rear hatch needs to be swapped in, it's sitting on the passenger seat.

Install as many of the parts as you feel like and put gas in it and it's yours for as long as you need it.

lol @ bike. i'd get run over. i have two really nice ones though, i WISH i could ride to work without fear of certain death.

and maybe, i'd rather get my own car to have for a DD for real though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have no idea where my ex is or how much weight she has gained/lost nor do I care.
a week ago I would have agreed with this. But I invited some of our mutual friends over for a BBQ in the last week and one of them invited her. She's lost a little weight but still crazy...

let me know if you ever want it.

Mine is at UNH sucking every dude's dick that walks near her...
mine dated 2 (maybe 3? I haven't tried to find out, I don't honestly really care or want to know) of my friends immediately after dumping me because 'she wasn't ready for a relationship' (after initiating one with me.)

I only really talk to her when she shows up because a mutual friend invited her somewhere. Shrug, couldn't care less now!

Didn't have issues, more like a subscription...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

dude i drove and beat on my old jeep for 4 years as a DD... i XXXXing drove it across the country. but i was in college, i could leave it undriveable for a couple days.. i also had 4 years to work EVERY kink out of the thing.

Cool you drove it across country.

I drove mine 500 miles a week on average. Even if there wasn't anything wrong with it, I would give it a once over at least once a week to make sure everything was still minty fresh.

And you just XXXXed up building a couple things (reamed out too much, etc.). Stop whining and fix it.

Sheesh you're as bad as Mark sometimes :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I HATE debt.

You really do, you mention it quite a bit.

Aaand Colin being a know it all again.

Are you serious? It hasn't been close to almost every day. Maybe recently it has. If it HAS been, then you work 100x slower than me, and I work SLOW just ask Adam.
Mr "that should only take 10 minutes to do, bam!" I'm sorry, but who are you to say how long or when someone has worked on something?

How hard do you plan on beating the XXXXing thing? I had NO problem backing down from trails when I wheeled mine everyday if it was extreme because I KNEW I had to use it to get to work the next day and DIDN'T want the cost/hassle of a DD on top of it.

Also, yours will be plenty bulletproof for it's size. What the hell is going to break on it that wouldn't just go out ordinarily? Window regulators? Crank sensors? If you break a driveshaft OH NOES I HAVE TO UNDO 8 BOLTS???

I think you're being a wicked vagina. It's ok to admit you want a vehicle with no maintenance as a daily driver and are willing to bend over for it.
Really, you've been wheeling for how long and you think only ordinary stuff breaks offroad? I'm sorry, but this is a whole lot of stupid right here. Sh*t happens, its easy to tear a side wall (you did it), bend a rim, break a shaft, etc etc.

I don't see why everyone thinks "get a cheap beater, its more than fine and you won't have to worry about it. If you get a cheap cherokee, you already know how to fix stuff, and probably have parts." Even if you have the parts you still have to ACTUALLY FIX THE THING! It will be down for some period of time, etc etc. I bought a cheap beater to DD, and I ended up spending a ton of money to fix the damn thing, and it was still a piece of crap.

Adam, I completely agree with a lot of the stuff you've said, and I (despite everyone else here) think that your thinking is some of the more logical in terms of practicality. "oh my gosh you won't own the vehicle, the world is going to end!!!"

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Mark, you were doing it wrong.

Even when I had to swap my trans in the 96 it cost me like $100 from the Bump Jeep Parts Emporium and it took me one day to fix.

Front axle? I owe Rob a big one and I wheeled the shit out of it the very next weekend after only getting the axle on Wednesday night.

tear sidewall? drive to work on donuts or a random ass tire.
Bend a rim? hammer that shit out or call up bump / me / most guys on here who have at least a set or two sitting around. I have AT LEAST 2 sets of spare rims and I am generally willing to deliver to anyone who needs it that I consider a friend or who has helped me in the past.
Break a shaft? you should have spares.
Radiator? I have 2 or 3 sitting around I've bought recently simply because it was a good deal and I figure I'll need it eventually. Speaking of which, Doug, I still owe you 40 bucks for that pile-o-parts from your 96.
Motor? 100 bucks and an evening
Transfer case? 100 bucks and an evening. I did one in less than 2 hours in a parking lot in 0-degree windchill.

Get a cheap beater.

I'm sorry I feel my time is much better spent doing other things than expending all my energy looking over or fixing my vehicle. I'd like to feel like I haven't gone through a lot of this life wasting time on doing mundane things when I could have been hanging out with friends, doing this or that, and enjoying my time here.

Mr. "everything I have miraculously works all the time," shit gets annoying fast when stupid things keep breaking, and quite frankly makes me want to fix it less and less each time it does.

I'm sorry I feel there are more important things in life.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Mr "that should only take 10 minutes to do, bam!" I'm sorry, but who are you to say how long or when someone has worked on something?

Like I said before, ask Adam. I don't work fast AT ALL.

Really, you've been wheeling for how long and you think only ordinary stuff breaks offroad? I'm sorry, but this is a whole lot of stupid right here. Sh*t happens, its easy to tear a side wall (you did it), bend a rim, break a shaft, etc etc.

I've been ACTUALLY wheeling for probably about 2-3 years now, aka more than just puddle jumping.

It took me 6-8 months to pop a STOCK front D44 shaft and I wheeled at least twice a month.

I tore tons of side walls. I ALWAYS had a spare. What did I do when I was DDing on the spare? NOT GO WHEELING. Holy shit this is not science. I bent the same steel wheel twice from airing it out WHILE DDing it. I took a sledge and beat it back. "OMG BALANCING ISHEWS!!" I used BBs because I KNEW I didn't want to have to worry about wheel weights.

Even if you DO break a shaft, you can either A pull the slug or B UNLOCK YOUR HUBS.

Oh no I blew the rear driveshaft!!! Pull it out, lock in front hubs or whatever, and get to work in front wheel drive.

I don't see why everyone thinks "get a cheap beater, its more than fine and you won't have to worry about it. If you get a cheap cherokee, you already know how to fix stuff, and probably have parts." You suck at fixing things Mark remember? We didn't come up with the term "you begleyed it" for no reason.

Adam, I completely agree with a lot of the stuff you've said, and I (despite everyone else here) think that your thinking is some of the more logical in terms of practicality. "oh my gosh you won't own the vehicle, the world is going to end!!!"

You couldn't even diagnose a worn out TRE at the pitman arm, and the fact that you have 0 wheel weights on the drivers side tires and you "had a high speed vibration". I'm not surprised you think leasing a new car is a good option.

If you have 0 desire to maintain a vehicle, go lease or make payments on something.

THIS. TIMES ELEVENTY BILLION.

i love my jeep, i love jeeps, i love wheeling. but i hate this POS so much right now bc i'm constantly turning wrenches. my friends have helped me out a TON with everything, i learned and still am learning a TON. but right now, i'm just pissed.

XXXX you guys, i do what i want.

Well there are a few things wrong with this situation that won't work for most other people .

One thing I think most people continue to fail to realize just because you are in one situation, does not mean everyone else is or has the ability to be in the same situation as you. Not everyone can have a giant stash of jeep parts laying around their yards, or has people close to them to go easily grab one night after work, without having to sacrifice their time, missing meals, getting little sleep, wasting gas, etc.

Drive on some random ass donut spare? I'm sorry but I can't drive 75mph on some random donut or unbalanced tire to get to work on 128, or adam's case the LIE.

Spare shafts? I don't know about you, but I'm not going to go out and buy spare chromoly axle shafts, special ordered for my application just because "everyone should have spares. I don't have that money for shafts to sit around in the off chance that I might randomly break it one time.

$100 for a motor, and one evening? I haven't seen really any motors for $100 that I would bother putting in my Jeep. I know it will certainly take more than one evening to not halfass some job either. pulling it out and putting in? ya.

Yes because I spent every waking moment on my XJ. It's sad when you think taking 10 minutes to look over my jeep once a week is a bad thing. You really don't understand what PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE is do you???

Holy hell I'm not full of myself Mark, you just make big deals out of NOTHING. ANYONE can do this shit, it's not rocket science.

Shit keeps breaking when you DONT TAKE CARE OF IT. And your attitude of fixing it less and less each time it does only hurts you DUH.

There are plenty more important things in life. I'll be hanging out with my family tonight, girlfriend tomorrow night, and all my friends to go wheeling on Sunday. I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about.

you got it.

you built your jeep and took your time, all the while you had a nice truck to get to and from work, the parts store, your lady's house.

preventative maintenace? every XXXXing piece on my jeep that i swapped in has 0 miles. zero. stuff still falls apart when you put together 78 ford this on 86 chevy that welded to custom piece this and bolted to a jeep.

all this BS makes me want something new more. a new lease means

-its reliable
-if something breaks, WARRANTY! + loaner car from the dealer = no down time
-cant mod it. YES. no extra money spent bc i need a radio or it looks dumb without this etc
-TIME TO WORK ON MY JEEP AND NOT RUSH TO DRIVE IT TO WORK THE NEXT DAY. how cool is that.
-fiestas come in lime green.
