I'm going to hell... I can just feel it.
16 miles? Buy a bike if all else fails. You'll be ripped for the ladies and it costs like 200 bucks.
If not, I have a red 98 XJ you can borrow. It needs a heater core (parts come with it), maybe a new motor (I have one, just haven't installed it), and carpet/exhaust (I have the carpet, don't have the exhaust.) Oh and a wiring harness for the rear hatch needs to be swapped in, it's sitting on the passenger seat.
Install as many of the parts as you feel like and put gas in it and it's yours for as long as you need it.
Mine is at UNH sucking every dude's dick that walks near her...I have no idea where my ex is or how much weight she has gained/lost nor do I care.
BRBMine is at UNH sucking every dude's dick that walks near her...
a week ago I would have agreed with this. But I invited some of our mutual friends over for a BBQ in the last week and one of them invited her. She's lost a little weight but still crazy...I have no idea where my ex is or how much weight she has gained/lost nor do I care.
let me know if you ever want it.lol @ bike. i'd get run over. i have two really nice ones though, i WISH i could ride to work without fear of certain death.
and maybe, i'd rather get my own car to have for a DD for real though.
mine dated 2 (maybe 3? I haven't tried to find out, I don't honestly really care or want to know) of my friends immediately after dumping me because 'she wasn't ready for a relationship' (after initiating one with me.)Mine is at UNH sucking every dude's dick that walks near her...
dude i drove and beat on my old jeep for 4 years as a DD... i XXXXing drove it across the country. but i was in college, i could leave it undriveable for a couple days.. i also had 4 years to work EVERY kink out of the thing.

I HATE debt.
Mr "that should only take 10 minutes to do, bam!" I'm sorry, but who are you to say how long or when someone has worked on something? Are you serious? It hasn't been close to almost every day. Maybe recently it has. If it HAS been, then you work 100x slower than me, and I work SLOW just ask Adam.
Really, you've been wheeling for how long and you think only ordinary stuff breaks offroad? I'm sorry, but this is a whole lot of stupid right here. Sh*t happens, its easy to tear a side wall (you did it), bend a rim, break a shaft, etc etc.How hard do you plan on beating the XXXXing thing? I had NO problem backing down from trails when I wheeled mine everyday if it was extreme because I KNEW I had to use it to get to work the next day and DIDN'T want the cost/hassle of a DD on top of it.
Also, yours will be plenty bulletproof for it's size. What the hell is going to break on it that wouldn't just go out ordinarily? Window regulators? Crank sensors? If you break a driveshaft OH NOES I HAVE TO UNDO 8 BOLTS???
I think you're being a wicked vagina. It's ok to admit you want a vehicle with no maintenance as a daily driver and are willing to bend over for it.
Cool you drove it across country.
I drove mine 500 miles a week on average. Even if there wasn't anything wrong with it, I would give it a once over at least once a week to make sure everything was still minty fresh.
And you just XXXXed up building a couple things (reamed out too much, etc.). Stop whining and fix it.
Sheesh you're as bad as Mark sometimes![]()

I don't see why everyone thinks "get a cheap beater, its more than fine and you won't have to worry about it. If you get a cheap cherokee, you already know how to fix stuff, and probably have parts." Even if you have the parts you still have to ACTUALLY FIX THE THING! It will be down for some period of time, etc etc. I bought a cheap beater to DD, and I ended up spending a ton of money to fix the damn thing, and it was still a piece of crap.
Adam, I completely agree with a lot of the stuff you've said, and I (despite everyone else here) think that your thinking is some of the more logical in terms of practicality. "oh my gosh you won't own the vehicle, the world is going to end!!!"
Mr. "everything I have miraculously works all the time," shit gets annoying fast when stupid things keep breaking, and quite frankly makes me want to fix it less and less each time it does.
Well there are a few things wrong with this situation that won't work for most other people .Mark, you were doing it wrong.
Even when I had to swap my trans in the 96 it cost me like $100 from the Bump Jeep Parts Emporium and it took me one day to fix.
Front axle? I owe Rob a big one and I wheeled the shit out of it the very next weekend after only getting the axle on Wednesday night.
tear sidewall? drive to work on donuts or a random ass tire.
Bend a rim? hammer that shit out or call up bump / me / most guys on here who have at least a set or two sitting around. I have AT LEAST 2 sets of spare rims and I am generally willing to deliver to anyone who needs it that I consider a friend or who has helped me in the past.
Break a shaft? you should have spares.
Radiator? I have 2 or 3 sitting around I've bought recently simply because it was a good deal and I figure I'll need it eventually. Speaking of which, Doug, I still owe you 40 bucks for that pile-o-parts from your 96.
Motor? 100 bucks and an evening
Transfer case? 100 bucks and an evening. I did one in less than 2 hours in a parking lot in 0-degree windchill.
Get a cheap beater.

colin sucks!
I'm sorry I feel my time is much better spent doing other things than expending all my energy looking over or fixing my vehicle. I'd like to feel like I haven't gone through a lot of this life wasting time on doing mundane things when I could have been hanging out with friends, doing this or that, and enjoying my time here.

I'm sorry I feel there are more important things in life.
There are plenty more important things in life. I'll be hanging out with my family tonight, girlfriend tomorrow night, and all my friends to go wheeling on Sunday. I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about.
