THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I will be wheeling. Its just going to be a shitty leaf pack. I would get the leafs from you but I don't have the time to get out to Keene to get them and this will be the last run on these packs anyways. All four bushings are effing trashed.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

troy (bigoffroad) uses national spring IIRC... thats miles above TNT's 4 leaf garbage.
Alcan, IIRC. Same as National?

I just saw they had the 1/4" NPT plugs for the steering box and figured I'd ask. Went and got ready to order... $10 shipping for two plugs. Fawk that. Went to grainger and they require company info to create an account (damnit x2). Time to keep looking.
I've entered your information in my system as the second branch office of Mickey Mouse Fabrication Inc., feel free to order whenever you want ;)

mostly they never check that shit, if it's an online order and they ask me to fill in a name I say my company is Mickey Mouse Fab, or make some other shit up on the spot, works fine.

I've gotten out of "family parties" several times to go wheeling or whatever.

Especially if it's just a lame BBQ or something.
I am skipping a cousin's wedding in Chicago this weekend to work on the house and race my POS. I told them way early that I was busy working on the house and was too broke to buy plane tickets anyways, and, well, one of those is still true.

this is what i have:

it was the most expensive item on the menu when i bought it 3 years ago or so.

i see 4 bolt holes. perhaps the design has changed?
yup. Pass side now grabs the 2 ignition coil bolts as well as the 2 alt bracket bolts.

I'm not man enough for this, but I'd love to give it hell. Someone got another girl and a red jeep for me to borrow?
there are 3 at my place, one is the "2feet" model, my 6cyl that wants to be a 4cyl, and Jay's 6cyl

I have 2. You can pick one up at 32 pleasant st. in southbridge ma.
146 :p

I would have a wheelable red jeep this weekend if I didnt just find a broken leaf in the middle of the pack. FAWK YEAH! Wicked pumped I get to order new leafs now :flamemad:
it's in the middle of the pack, FIRI

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was realizing today, its probably going to be a little while before I build another Jeep. It is going to cost quite a bit, and I have other expenses I want/need to focus on like school loans, and saving to buy a new DD, which won't happen for a while. Building another Jeep with all the stuff I'm going to want is going to cost $$, and I can't seem to keep any of that around lately.

I'll eventually make green Jeep driveable again, I just don't feel like buying tires right now after my scuba purchase, or fixing the axles/lockers while their under the Jeep.

 Thanks. I ended up just using my name in the 'company' spot and went from there. They wanted $10 to ship two plugs as well and then I just placed the order with mcmaster and was done with that.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

anyone know who made the dpg trailgunner leafs?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My mom did that to my dad one time, threw out the box with all the brackets for the new bumper and fender on her car before he could fix it. As a result she got to drive around a car with a mangled bumper and fender (she caused the accident) for another few years :roflmao:

She started checking boxes more carefully before throwing them out...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

deathwobbled all the way to work today! fixed my steering so the alignment is perfect but now the too-reamed-out pitman arm is like FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU bc the drag link isnt pulling on it. gotta put a new pitman arm on today after work. 30mph in the shoulder of the LIE is no fun.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yay for friday is right!

I don't feel like fixing my car but I might do that tomorrow morning. or tonight and get it over with. So for anyone who cares to throw out ideas... what's the best way to get a broken stud out of the head? Thankfully about 3/8" or 1/2" is still sticking out... should I try to put 2 nuts on and turn it out? try to get the grinder in there to put a couple flat spots on it and use vise grips? I dunno how difficult these things are to get out :dunno:

thread on a nut, weld it to the stud, unthread stud, have a beer.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hm. maybe. I'll probably splooge over it and make a giant gross blob that I can't get any wrench on

I'll try that though. :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's what I was going to suggest too.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh and I helped my brother change his rear shock bushings out since they were JUNK.

oxy/acy and a 3/8 ratchet and they all came out mint. Even reused the hardware

I don't get why people overlook heat as an option.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Attempt #1 at extracting my broken motor mount bolts failed last night. That was with a right-angle drill attachment and a left-handed bit. Not sure what to try next.
