THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

this guy makes me wish I was near suicidal (well, more near suicidal) and had one of those suits and lived in the Rockies.

This is about a mile away from my office:

Ken will probably like that.
I think I actually posted a youtube comment telling the cameraman he is a XXXXing moron and should shut up, but yeah, amusing video.

I thought Bill was stupid for not wanting cable. Then I called to see how much it cost.
f cable. I have cable internets for 25/mo because I hate verizon marginally more than charter, but I refuse to pay for actual cable TV service. I don't even own a TV.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Now have all the stuff needed to finish my steering. Starting (completing?) the rebuild tomorrow and getting that shit installed Thursday or Friday. Time to go clean the garage/workbench.

I'm trying to decide if I should keep shopping CL for a used set of tools or if I should just go to sears and spend $400 or whatever on a full set of craftsman stuff. My stanley socket set from walmart has been taking a beating for the past 5 years or so but half my wrenches and sockets seem to have gone missing ever since I took the tool box over to my friends place for the engine swap a few weeks ago

I'm fearing the day long event of 'digging through his toolbox and basement for my shit' so much that I think I might buy new tools instead. That basement/toolbox is a black hole for tools. This time I won't take my new tools to his house and if I do I will be damn sure they come home with me every night.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Holy crap, I think I have a chubby...

But seriously, every time I see stuff like this (I've had "base jumping" and then "wing Suit" on my top list of things I want to do), it makes me regret getting into scuba diving, and wishing I did sky diving.

If I had one of those suits and a place to do that, I don't think I'd ever do anything else.

X1,000,000

It makes BASE jumping, skydiving, and bungee jumping look boring.
Ummm....that guy was base jumping...

He had a wing suit on, but he base jumped.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ummmm, so Bob, was it you I sent the yoke to? If so, was it the right one? While cleaning I just found another yoke and have no clue what it's for. The only thought is that I had two 8.25 yokes sitting around... that I actually thought ahead and saved the yoke from the first 8.25 I killed years back.. which would mean one of them was a 27 spline yoke and one was a 29 spline.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

And I think I need to find my father's planer around here. The one downside of my workbench is that my grandfather did wood work and wasn't too concerned about having super tight joints between the wood used for the benchtop and it's not even perfectly level from one piece of wood to the next. Going to level that out and then get some plexi or lexan to put over the top of the bench I think.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

holy mess. ive been working from 6 am till 8-9 at night clearing trees off of downed lines in RI.

27 vs 29 spline 8.25s use the same yoke, BUT somewhere in the 94/95/96 range (I forget exactly) the yoke changes length by 1/4" of an inch. No, I have no idea why :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I hate when 3 projects all rely on 5 bolts that you don't have and you can't make progress until you get them. If I don't get my ubolts by tomorrow afternoon I'll cry

I figured the yoke changed at the same time the spline count did. Regardless, one axle was from a '93 and one was from a later (29-spline) Jeep so they likely had different yokes.

Awesome, glad it worked. If it didn't I would have felt like an ass. :laugh3: This nice weather is killing me. REALLY don't want to go to work again. Scheduling next Tuesday off I think so I hope the weather holds out.

Changing my U bolt plates to the ones I got from Anthony that have a bump stop plate, and taking the overload spring out to lower the ass end down about a .5" and loosen up the rear end hopefully

hockey pucks

Probably what I'll do for now. I'll just drill and tap the bucket this time.

I'm mounting my shocks to the ubolt plate also so they are going through the floor. I cut one hole last night for it and will do the other Thursday or this afternoon. I figure if I weld it from wheel well to wheel well and gusset it on the wells it should be good. Hell people make cages and shock mounts from .120 DOM so how can .125 be any worse? I'll ad legs in the middle if it looks weak.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Stolen form ROTM thread. :
Flores only wheels his mouth online. In person hes a punk and his "wheeling" is nothing short of comedic. Anything you have to say is as comedic as your advanced fab and boyfriend. Heather has wheeled harder than you and she has only driven 3 times you tool. Grow a pair.
Quiefer really? Bet Kiefer could make you cry just by walking up to you. Hell you got scared when Heather almost cleaned your clock at marco's. Whenever you want to go wheeling let me know. Id love to leave you stranded to rot in the mountains
I thought I talked a lot of internet tough guy smack. Jeeze, I guess if you go west you have to wear a thong and bitch about everything.

That's what I'm doing.. don't see why it wouldn't be. I'm using 1.75 .120 dom

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

National Grid is predicting Saturday for restoration of power for me.

I went to bed at 915 last night and it was awesome.
