i drove kenny's 2nd gen to work this morning and idk how any of you drive these things every day. the 3rd gen is a lot more refined, and the chevys are minty but they feel mad floaty. these things are just huge.

I fixed this with some bling 5100s.

I'm tempted to just get another stock clutch.

I think I'd rather put a 440 in the MJ over the winter.

I dunno I'm gonna talk to the guy at Southbend again. I didn't think they were upgrading input shafts until 500 hp but I don't know that much about it.

Oh I forgot to mention, the two 440s my father/uncle picked up like two weeks ago were from the SAME BOAT.

That guy must have been out of his mind. Two 440s in one boat????

Anything less than 600hp and why are you even spending money on it? I mean come on dude.

Seriously, get the stock one that did fine for all this time and stop screwing with your DD.

I don't know the exact number, but I know people break them with less. You might be lucky, who knows. I don't like to associate the word 'lucky' with my DD. ;)

Is your goal for the truck to make 400-500 HP?

How many miles did you get out of the existing clutch?

Well I did make it 7 hours home with 0 fuel pressure...I'd consider myself lucky :laugh:.

Nah my goal is to just throw a Smarty on and be done with it. I want it for multiple reasons: help out the low end, 3 cyl high idle, and read OBDII codes.

It probably will only make like 50 more hp and like 100-150 more lb ft of torque. It's not a slap and go double your HP/TQ tuner, it's more just to help out the low end and timing.

Assuming it's still the stock clutch (which I think it is, I don't think anything has been removed) I got 140k out of it.

The only time I notice how big it is is when I also notice how small most parking spots are.

Me too. I can afford fuel or food, not both. Pick your location closer to me and then I might be able to meet you and have a peanut shell or something.

4-500HP in a cummins is hovering around 7-800lb/ft of torque... thats a bit more than a intake, exhuast, and chip can give you in a 2nd gen.

Aside from the standard ones being less than $350, there are a few 'mildly' upgraded discs available that'd probably be fine.

We'll see how the tires do, I've heard nothing but great things about them. And as for the wheels, there the same width as the ones that I already had, so no loss there, just a little less backspacing which I like.
