THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm fawking burnt out from this week. Really looking forward to getting home, probably hopping on the bicycle (weather permitting), and going for a ride and picking up some beer before spending some time working on the XT to try and get that running.

If the weather sucks I'll just have my mother stop by the packie on the way home so I can get the beer.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I got this text message at 4:45 AM from my buddy Wil:

"Rock beats everything and .45 beats Goodyear military tires. Fatc."

I'm looking forward to finding out WTF that means.

I stopped by there today to junk a car from work. .45 really did beat Goodyear military tires.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just got a letter from the RMV stating that as of 4 days ago I am eligible to have my license reinstated. Wth. I'm supposed to have another 40 days of suspension from now. I'm assuming that just means my first suspension (from the police dept) is up since it does say I need to see a hearings officer but :dunno: would be sweet if something weird happened and I get the full license back sooner than expected.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I don't think my torque converter is locking properly. I was on the highway today and tried the "cruise at 55 and quickly and lightly hit the brakes, should jump rpm some" test. No jump after multiple attempts. I swear I got it to do it once last week though.

Either way, I think I filled up Tuesday (very well could have been monday, and I'm already at half a tank.

if you had an obd2 rig it would tell you yo converter is XXXXed.

funny thing about that. i did a tranny swap. and my torque converter wouldnt lock for the first week. then it magically began locking, and its been fine for the past 40k miles or so

and i'll give you $200 for it. and it will be a briarwood on 38's by this time next year

A few things - make sure your brake switch is functional. IIRC the 91+ ones have multiple terminal sets so the brake lights coming on may not be a full indicator. Also make sure the NSS is working right, if it's reading as the shifter being in the wrong gear (96 and earlier show no connections if the shifter is in 3, so if the contacts for either 1-2 or D or dirty, it will seem like the shifter's in 3 to the TCU)... though you probably already did all this.

My personal test is to stomp on the gas a bit rather than hitting the brakes, if you get on it a little it should stay right where it is if the TC is locked obviously. If it rises, you aren't locked. I found that the motor would sometimes slow down fast enough when I took my foot off the gas that tapping the brakes to unlock the TC wasn't all that reliable an indicator.

ill put a clutch pedal in it
