Er, tree. That I knocked over to a 45-degree angle, and ended up with the front end of the truck 6 feet off the ground.

B. Eh, I guess you have a point but I can't say that I fully agree. Almost every time a motorcycle crash happens at speed the rider's head hits.

It basically felt like someone had a baseball bat and was drumming on your helmet the entire time you were moving.

We're doing 50+ MPH in places. A hard crash or roll at that speed will easily let your body & harness stretch an inch or more. If you're hitting something with 0 G's and belted in, you're going to smack the XXXX out of it with any momentum behind you.

I just don't want to be dropping $200+ on a helmet. I was hoping for somewhere around $100.

my nice scorpion open face DOT helmet w a shield i bought for autox was $130. save a few bucks on a motox style helmet without a shield and get GOOD googles that wont scratch.

Colin do you have contacts you can wear? I don't know if glasses will fit behind MX goggles.

Or just get one with the built in shield...? Just food for thought. I've never had to cross that bridge before.

Oh, and I broke the coolant temp sender off the back of the head when I was lowering it back onto the motor.

No I don't have contacts, but I'll have my glasses with me so that's a good point. I'll have to check that out.

I did the same thing when dropping the 4.0 into my MJ.

Colin, FWIW, I wear sunglasses behind my clear shield almost all the time and it's fine. I also used to wear my spectacles (before I stepped on them 2 years ago and never got a new pair :laugh3

I descended Mt. Adams too quickly and my right knee hurts. Never had any joint pain before but this is crappy. If I had to guess, it's the LCL.

Found some pics of me on the rock garden at Carlisle.

My friends '57. Early small block hemi (I think 392ci) with a procharger on it. So awesome, and the thing screws. He's pushing over 600 hp last time I spoke to him.
