THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think I'm going to say F*ck it and just run with the stuck front OX cable for NACfest. I really don't feel like changing it, and it is at least stuck in the locked position. I also plan on changing the routing of the cable, and I don't know where to yet, so I don't want to order the wrong length cable, or have to buy a second one. I'm sure my already horrible turning radius will suffer some, but who cares.

Are you driving your XJ down...?

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yes, with unlocked hubs, which is how I always drive.

i got a 90"

Interesting, I had a 78" last time. Have you checked the routing on it yet, for how much extra/bend radius you'll have?

Uh, I couldn't care less about your hubs

Is your XJ...together enough to make a 400+ mile drive?

Well that's not what you asked. Yes, it is together enough to make the drive down. I'm hesitant to start taking it apart to change that fact. The drive back, on the other hand...

Ugh, cables are expensive. Its $10 more to buy the air actuated system than it is to replace the cable. I had thought about getting a new lever for my rear eventually, to upgrade it to the new, more beefy lever, but that is another $115 for that.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

silly sectable lockers and being stuck or not working, lockrite-always works spool-always works

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My renix is running rich as XXXX coolant temp sensor checked out to be working, MAP is good too O2 is brand new. Knock sensors broken but im told that wouldnt cause it, anyone have any ideas?

Check your IAT too, it's in the intake manifold, near the TB. It's a 2 wire sensor, like an ECT, and if it's bad it can cause it to run rich.

Is it possible to do main & rod bearings on a 4.0 without having to pull the motor out?

Yes, it's possible, no it isn't fun. We did it on a friends 91, but it was 90% stock, I don't know what you may have in the way.

You gave more information than I asked for, so HAH.

Alright, I just didn't remember it being in the best of shape .

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yesterday I sat and listened to a ZJ that had 2 18" subwoofers in a ported box. It had unibody cracks forming from the bass. It was ridiculous. Easily the loudest car I've ever been in. I can't even describe it.

Damn. My buddy had a WJ with 12s I think, maybe 15s. Not even sure what but I got stuck in the back seat of that thing for a 1 hour drive somewhere. It hurt, I mean, I hated my life. Idk why anyone thinks that much base is required or even sounds good. :dunno:

What do you mean? The body isn't in the best of shape, but I drive it around a lot. I need to fix the t-case leak, adjust the linkage, do something for a skid, replace rear shocks, and that's it.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the kid was backing out of his driveway and got t-boned.

How fast was the other driver going?!?! 100 mph?

Are you driving your XJ down...?

I told him to rent a truck and tow my trailer down if he's so worried about it. Although that could not happen if I decide to buy that truck, in which case Ill tow red jeep down for its final run and not beat it too much.

HAHAHAHAH, that cartoon is great. I'm sure we are all a little guilty of doing that from time to time.

Aaaaaaand queue angry response.

I just found Hutchinson beadlocks, that looks pretty sweet. 2 piece aluminum wheel with insert for a double beadlock. Expensive, but sweet looking.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I know you're a complete know-it-all Colin.

(And I did look it up, Wikipedia does say it too)
