Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I can get a running '94 5-speed Taurus SHO for under $400, just gotta drag it back from Connecticut. Something fragged in the clutch assembly and the guy's done with it.

If that's all it is, I might throw a clutch in the damn thing and drive it in the meanwhile.

So how's this for a drivetrain clusterXXXX:

- Taurus SHO motor
- Canfield Industries bellhousing adapter - 3.0 V6 to Ford smallblock
- Ford truck bellhousing for NP435 ( I think)
- Ford clutch release assembly
- SHO flywheel & pressure plate
- clutch disc for 1982-84 Camaro w/2.8L V6 (this matches the OD of the SHO clutch disc and the splines of the NV4500 input)
- Advance Adapters Ford bellhousing to Dodge NV4500 adapter
- Dodge NV4500 w/gas input shaft (1-1/8" 10-spline)
- 231 range box
- Dana 300 flipped

:wierd:

I'm just guessing at all that, found the clutch disc via Summit, still gotta confirm the thickness...

Holy clusterXXXX dude.

But if it works out well that could be sweet.

That's really the only way I can find to get it done with a transmission worth a damn (and of course, since I have the transmission already). A T5 would be easy, or the craptastic Ranger/explorer automatic, but I don't want either of those.

i want my next money pit to be a go-kart/rock buggy

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm considering selling my rolling pins for serious. Think it would all go fast on PBB if I was willing to ship?

I'm honestly not going to use/need them for a while and I think 16" travel might be a tad excessive. And having that $ back would be nice.

I was thinking of asking $2k shipped anywhere in the lower 48 for all 4 shocks, bumps, and 2 cans.

90% of what i listen to i dont post on facebook

but if 90% of the music you post generally represents 100% of your musical tastes then theres a good chance approximately 90% of the music you listen to is the same shit on wbru regardless.

unless you secretly love wicked gay shit and dont let anyone know of it

hey chris, if your gonna be going to CT, wanna grab some h2s from a dude in NJ on your way up and we can meet in CT? :kissyou: Depending on when you were planning on doing it

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Am I the only one who likes big block V8s?

You're the only one who has access to 20 big blocks on crates.

It's just a big pipe dream for the rest of us.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Well I mean I know lots of people probably think they aren't good for racing for whatever reason.

I mean...doesn't an LS1 weigh around 500 lbs? A 440 with cast iron heads weighs around 650 lbs...so not that much more.

I guess the other side of it is how much power do you REALLY need to race.

I mostly want it just for the cool factor considering I'll probably only do like 2-3 races a year.

Where in NJ?

If I do it, I'll probably go Saturday morning. The car's in Fairfield.

Yeah I know, that's the other reason I want to do it.

I've only seen one other XJ with a 440 and it was to race at the strip.
