Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

broke that stupid lock for the cragar lug nuts, now i cant get any of my tires off sweet

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

totally and completely agree. If Mia wants Starbucks and we don't have time to stop at Dunks I just get a black coffee, cause at least that way it's consistently shitty  I've tried like 10 different things on the menu there for drinks and haven't ever finished a single one because it makes me feel sick. so yeah, all starbucks drinks can suck a nut
If you can't drink it black, it's not good coffee IMO.

A friend of mine just told me about his post-lunch walk... He ended up helping carry a dead/dying deer whose guts were spilling out to the side of the road as a cop directed traffic around the deer and smashed car. Now a woman he works with is out cleaning it. I hope he gets venison out of the deal, but I think that's the last thing on his mind right now.

ok, that's fine... but I still think all starbucks drinks are horrifically disgusting

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I only ever get their coffee... The rest of the crap is gross. If you want milk and sugar, get milk and sugar. Don't pretend that it's coffee. I'll take a DD coolata over a flavored Starbucks Crapuccino any day.

That'd be the first/only thing on my mind. Id be on the side of the road gutting it and toss it in my jeep to bring home. Venison = yummy. Elk = yummier but I don't think ill find any around here.

He was a little too shaken up for that, I think.

I've cleaned up plenty of dead things of medium size, but never had a mammal that large die right in front of me in such a gruesome fashion. I like to think I'd be ok with it, but I'm really not sure. I think it would depend on the smell. Smell more than sight is what gets to me.

good effing luck.

ez out sockets are the jam. we even have some special tools at work when the going gets tough

yours shouldnt be too hard because you have the wheels on and off often though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Prediction: no one in that KOH thread is ever gonna run that race. Everyone's bitching about how the rules should be changed to accomodate their already-built trail rig. Wait til your already-built trail rig gains another few $k in expense for safety stuff, at least $5k to make the trip happen...no way is it gonna be the cheap, average-guy race everyone's hoping it'll be.

Seriously? This guy wants to race this?

First time in a real race situation is a very eye-opening experience. I had more shit go wrong in the first mile than the previous 2 years of trailriding.

I wonder how hard it'd be to get my little TTB YJ thing up to spec...

That's why I don't care to even change my build right now to accomodate it.

I've never raced, I guarantee I'll only make it out there a few times in my whole life, and I just flat out don't care.

I don't mind making it a habit to compete out here, but adding in traveling across country drives the overall cost sky high. Not to mention they said something about a $700+ entry fee? Goddamn.

Doesn't your TTB setup use full hydro?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Most people have no clue what it's actually like to compete and do something as hard and fast as you can. It really is a totally different world.

In the current concept, it does. In my initial planning, no it didn't. I'd rather do the full hydro now but I'd consider using my existing box & pump if that was the only sticking point.

Sadly, pretty sure the whole frame/body thing is gonna XXXX me over anyway before it gets to that point.

Serious question, what racing experience do you have?

I figure I'll try to make my Jeep fit the requirements, because as of now all I need to do is get some DOT tires, and not chop the back off when I do the cage and I'm legal according to the rules they have currently... if it drastically changes and my rig in its current configuration doesn't meet the specs, I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it. But if I could do that someday, I think it'd be pretty friggin sweet is all :)

And considering the kind of $$$ that goes into my/your/all our rigs, it's pretty damn easy to make $700 sound like pocket change

I'm just being realistic with myself. The first year qualifiers are drawings. Not sure what the qualifications are for the next year.

That whole class is going to turn into high-dollar rigs just like the pro class or whatever you want to call it.
