Holy crap I kinda got some shit done today. Another afternoon or two worth of work (swapping oil pans to the non rusty POS one, rear main seal, assembly of flexplate / transmission / tcase / etc) and the drivetrain will be ready to toss into the 99!

I got shit all cleaned up, swapped to the 99 intake / exhaust manifolds, made a nice mess of anti freeze on my boots, etc. yay!

In what way do you think you're getting an accurate reading then?

I don't understand why that would make a difference. I'm not going by my odometer. I know it's 108 miles to my house, I've google mapped it. My speedo gear is in no way connected to my gas gauge, so when I drive up and then fill up until the pump clicks off I know how many gallons I've used.

Seems pretty straight forward unless I'm completely missing something.

Does anyone use torque wrenches with digital displays regularly?

By the time I leave work tonight (10:30pm) I have to decide on which torque wrenches the company will be ordering.

I set tooling at a suspension component manufacturer. Mostly face/straddle mills, reamers, drills and taps. The drills, reamers and taps use 4mm-15mm collets and require a special spanner wrench to tighten down/break loose.

I can't afford one of those. :laugh:

My 25-250 ft-lb one is a Craftsman Digitork (which despite the name had nothing digital). Not the best, but really all I could afford at the time I bought it (and now). If I used it more I'd love to get a better higher end brand/version, maybe when I wear this one out. All my other ones 0-50 in-lb and 0-100 ft-lb, plus one other are the beam style.

we have a digital snap on torque wrench i use at work.

im not a fan of it.

ill take the clicky type any day

Yeah. I wasn't saying I'd want a digital one with the tones. I like the 'click, click' feeling. Plus I'd be that guy that doesn't have batteries for the digital one when I really needed it. I'm not really a fan of any of the digital devices unless it is the only option. I'm in the school of thought that if you can't read / function the non-digital version you shouldn't be using it anyway (maybe that applies more to micrometers and verniers though).
