I rode my buddies KTM 530 sx? Street legal enduro...HOLY BALLS that bike moved leaning on the tank it lifts the wheel until 4th and im 240lbs. Also its a 6 speed and can handle 70mph highway cruising bike will also do 115mph...

sx is a motocross bike.

and i call bullshit on the 115 mph. 1: he would be a tard to gear it that high if its true. and 2: you would shit yourself at 90 mph.

my 640 with the fairing and street gearing will do 105 and is limited by wind drag. i went lower on the final drive and im still limited at 105.

if its a street legal "enduro" model. depending on the year its an exc or xcw. those are the toned down from the motox bikes too.

wider ratio transmission, heavier flywheel and more stuff that makes it easier to "lug" the motor around in the tight stuff.

Having your left toe so damn close to the ground during a hard left turn that you want to upshift coming out of sucks. This lets you keep your foot on the top of the pedal and make the same shift.

Good point. Hadn't thought of that. I have dragged my toe a couple times on my current bike so I definitely see the reasoning behind that.

mine.

its the same motor as the big supermoto ktms. bigger gas tank, fairing, comfyer seat.

the older supermotos used the same frame, the newer ones are crazy and have nothing between the motor and the ground.

but the lc4 is a good motor. I have read up on em and people who bring them across the deserts and mountain passes go up to 40k miles without going inside them. which is pretty crazy for a motorcycle.

idk much more about the strict supermoto bikes. but with street tires on mine. the powerband is smooth enough and enough power is there that i can powerslide on pavement when im feelin ballsy.

ive been thinking about yours...but i dont want fairings. Im looking for essentially a drit bike with street tires and turn signals. A guy in town has a very very nice KTM supermoto bike but i havent been able to catch up to him to ask what it is.

Sounds a lot like what Scotty rides. His is as street legal as Colin's MJ is going to be.

......and on that note, time to start turning wrenchs. Im trying to decide if I wanna finish the knuckles or pull the 231. Im gunna have to steal Adam from Colin for a day soon so I have a GSD helper and get that Stak into place.

yeah its an EXC I could be wrong on top speed but i thought thats what he said.. I had it up to like 75 and it had alot left in it... He rides alot of street with it and does a bit of highway riding to and from work. Alls I know is that bike rips

Fact, Id rather enjoy the nice weather and my GF but I need to GSD ASAP!!!


It is kinda heavy, plus its a pain in the ass trying to lift it AND get it lined up correctly. I also forsee it being lifted up and down a couple of times until I find the right clocking position I want. Did I mention its something like 160lbs IIRC?

Im scared to bolt it to just my tranny and leave it there. I'll be putting a jackstand under it to support some weight until I get my second crossmember built.

so i think im gonna try this f-250 shock tower thing.

they are supposedly like 12 bucks at the dealer.

the stem adapter things dont work with the foa's and i need to outboard my shocks a little to get the remote resi where i want it.

i shoulda spent the extra 30 bucks and gotten the 90* fittings. woulda made this a lot easier lol.

I'm heading into Boston to meet some people for lunch/dinner and wish my bike was running right now. This weather has convinced me I gotta get it to the shop this week (though that will be tough since I work longer hours than the shop is open :doh: Guess I gotta convince the boss I need a paid half day this week ).

And I just got back from the JY. got a ZJ alt which I hope is the 136A one. Came from a laredo w/ heated seats and all (plus it's physically larger than the XJ one) so I think I got the right one. either way it's going in the Jeep to get it moving.

And talk about a PITA, every single 01+ WJ had the entire engine pulled so I couldn't get a pump. There was one WJ with an engine but all accessories were stripped off it already. Guess I am going to have to pay the premium to get a pre-pulled one.

i have to take my whole driver side of my motor apart in my overheating i popped the freeze plug thats been leaking for almost 2 years thats blocked by the exhaust manifold so off in the morning to order lots of gaskets WTF
