I see this thread is back to moving ahead at light speed .....

Bill - Don't give in to the pressure ..... do NOT get a TV. Life without one is so much richer and more fulfilling.

We rocked the no TV thing for a long time ... and we still don't have cable. SUCH a huge waste of time!!!!

Then I gave up and put a PS3 and bigass full HD flatscreen in the basement so I can play video games and watch movies like a real man should!! But I still don't consider that "TV watching"

x2. Much as I love the internet and technology, I do not own a TV, do not have cable, and never will. My family didn't have a TV till I was 14, and my parents still don't have cable.

i tried using masks but got really fustrated when my glasses or face shield would fog up, i now plan to order sone buff chix oizzia then get mad work done on the shitbox

Just out of curiousity, do any of you guys wear any dust masks while grinding/cutting?

I don't bother while welding (unless that body sealant crap is in the vicinity...that stuff will make you high), but I wear a crappy little dust mask while cutting/grinding. Probably going to go pick up some more and make sure they're N95.

I know the Heleta discs don't use silica (aka no chance of silicosis thank god).

I'm in more of an enclosed area with little venitilation so I'm more concerned about it. Annoying coming out of there with black boogers.

I wanted to start using them once, but I bought cheapo ones and the fit sucked, so I just dealt with it and turned on the exhaust fan. It doesn't solve the problem, but it helps. I hate black boogers for days too. Seems to be a necessary evil thus far.

I don't know what silicosis is but it sounds undesirable.

Exactly. When I was growing up I hardly had time to watch TV. I got to watch Sat. morning cartoons and that was about it unless it was unsafe (ie. Thunderstorm) outside. I only played a video console when I was over a neighbors house. I'd like to think I had a funnier childhood because of it.

All I've got is an N64 I got for Christmas way back when. I hardly used it and it still sits in its original box, many of the games unplayed except for Mario Cart and NBA something or other. I agree, a HUGE waste of time. I feel like today the TV has become a babysitter for many of the "modern" parents, it's sad.
