THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'm an audiphile. my nice stereo at home is made of nothing newer than 1982.
My dad's stuff is Klipsch speakers + Onkyo receiver (I think) from the same time period. I wish he'd give it to me. He never listens to it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Your issues are under the bonnet, not what is around/in (maybe in between) your ears.

:D
This is America. It's called a hood.

And I knew you were going to make that comment.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'd rather buy a pair of jeeps for that much. Maybe even 3 or 4.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Corporate HQ is in Framingham, MA (my ex-gf used to work there as an admin).

Also an engineering facility there. I don't think they had any manufacturing there though.

waay back when they started they made speakers there, only for a couple years. then everything got moved to korea.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hahaha i thought it was boston mass?
Framingham is about 20-30 minutes west of Boston. It's about the halfway point between Worcester and Beantown, so to most people who don't know the area, yes, Boston. I was just busting your balls.

I actually interviewed there... They've got some crazy rules like no eating or drinking at your desk (cept water). Dr. Bose did that a long time ago to get the introverted engineers to socialize. They thought nothing of spending 5 hours in the caf when things are slow, but expect you to work 70ish hours a week when it comes to be crunch time... All the people that loved their job were on the wacko side of things and all the normal people working there weren't all that happy.

edit: Colin has a good point, I don't know if they did their MFG there too, but I can't imagine they had any other facilities back in the day. From what I was told, I think they did everything there at first.

Stupid govt rules about external hard drives... I guess I'm done making progress for the Navy for today.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

56*F tomorrow. motorcycle time.

x2

So I listen to music while I work almost all the time. Every pair of headphones I've ever owned has lasted less than a year. The only set I've ever had last longer is these and they also happen to sound fantastic. I got them for my 21st birthday and they've been on their way out for a while (the wires started breaking right next to the speaker housing). They just finally siht the bed about 10 minutes ago. What should I get for my new pair? I'd prefer something small, not mixing headphones or something... I considered getting the same pair again but I've heard skull candy makes some good stuff.

i have skullcandy smokin buds and for the price i love them. but i also wear my ipod on an armband which helps a whole lot with headphone wire damage
