That's pretty sweet and I really never thought of that before. Turns out you really can learn things in class.[photo talk] Most of ya'll can skip this.
No, it doesn't magically erase people, but since it makes it darker, you have to compensate by a longer shutter, which will in turn make people walking more of a blur and fade into the background.
"Architecture photographers have a useful technique that often needs an ND filter to work. When photographing famous landmarks you often have problems with tourists getting in the way. If the shutter speed is slow enough it will be open long enough to ensure the moving people are so blurred they cannot be seen on the image. A 1/2sec exposure may record a streak of someone walking while a 4 sec exposure will make them vanish. Simple, but very effective. "
Example here
Then again I've never played with it at night, but I do have a remote and tripod so I could do fairly long exposures. I think it would be useful if I were to go for an "abandoned" theme. I wonder if the photo lab has any wide angle lenses.
I bet it was. How far is your commute? I rode in today too. During the ride it was 43*F according to weather.com. Supposed to be 56 for the ride home.drove the bike into work today, pretty chilly at 530 a.m. Kinda sucked.
So I think Rob, Keith, and Carmelo are definites for Friday.
Sam, Dundy, Mark, Anthony, and Travis are maybes?
Jenn's is in NH all week and coming home Friday. She wants to do something at night and I'd be shocked if that something had anything to do with anybody's jeep... I'll try but I really don't think it's gonna happen.Anthony you should come Friday and do a photoshoot of my MJ so people don't have to deal with my crap ass pictures anymore.
Supposed to hit 60+ I believe.
Billy, you feel like driving 2 hours?
I believe when I said I should take pictures of your Jeep is when you invited me.Anthony you should come Friday and do a photoshoot of my MJ so people don't have to deal with my crap ass pictures anymore.
Ha, class? No I learned that on the internet when I was looking through ND filter stuff. That's pretty sweet and I really never thought of that before. Turns out you really can learn things in class.
I'm not sure, but that late at night you might not even need to worry about using a ND filter to get 4-5sec exposure, it might already be dark enough. You'll have to play around and see though.
theoretically I might possibly be interested in sampling some of this water looking substance.I don't have a smoker, I have a slow cooker.
There are ways to get pretty good results still. The spare ribs I did last weekend turned out great, and the pulled pork and chili have been fantastic as well...just lookin for something new to try.If you've got any ideas, I'm open to suggestions.
So let's say you had a bunch of corn meal, sugar, yeast, and water sitting around that you mixed up and let sit for a few weeks.
And let's say you also had an apparatus that might look something like this.

And let's say you combine these things and apply heat for a few hours, you might end up with a few pints of something that looks like crystal-clear water.
And that water-looking substance might be 140-proof, kinda flammable, and have a very distinctive yet smooth taste.

Haha, figures...Ha, class? No I learned that on the internet when I was looking through ND filter stuff.
Ya, I would definitely play around with it, I've done some longer exposures of the city before, and just taken a few here and there. I looked up one from 2 years ago just walking down the street, and it was 1/4s shutter speed. That was with all the streetlights though, not necessarily something that would always be around.
Me tootheoretically I might possibly be interested in sampling some of this water looking substance.
It is far too beautiful out to be sitting in a cube. Guess what I'm doing?

I bet a 4.0 would run on that stuff.I only drink out of gas cans when i'm in PA
