Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
Which is my point...?
I haven't added much of anything to my truck. MAYBE an extra 100 pounds (tow hooks, compressor setup, tonneau cover). I don't carry anything in my truck or in the bed, other than a milkcrate with fluids/straps that probably weights 5 lbs.
I wouldn't want to be anywhere near the limit either, but I can't see a 9k lift being sketchy for lifting something like our trucks. That's a 2500 lb safety zone, and then the safety factor they take into account when building it...that's not enough?
He can lift every vehicle he owns. If they never plan on owning a fullsize truck they'll be fine.
Even with the added weight of 33s and a 440 (only 200 more TOPS than a small block) I doubt it was much over 5k lbs...if at all.
Empty curb weight:
Yours: 5789lbs
Mine: 5994lbs
Add 30gal of diesel fuel: 215lbs
That puts us both over 6k lbs without adding anything to the trucks (tonneau, bedliner, parts, whatever is on the back seat).

I wouldn't want to be anywhere near the limit of a lift I'd be putting my life under. Even a 9k lbs lift seems sketchy to me lifting a truck like ours. No way you'd ever get Ross's old man's truck on a lift like that either (not that I'd ever want to own something that big)

Exactly, but why limit yourself?

Your Ramcharger was likely close to over that, empty curb weight for a 4x4, V8 is listed at 4440 lbs.
