Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
Dude, the recipe is simple as hell. Try it for your next slow cooker experiment, it's cheap. You get over 3 lbs of pulled pork for less than 10 bucks.
- half a bone-in pork shoulder/boston butt (~3.75 lbs)
- one whole chopped white onion
- one can chipotles in adobo sauce
- half a jar of salsa verde (green salsa)
1. Put pork shoulder in slow cooker
2. Mince about half the peppers from the chipotle/adobo can (vary to taste)
3. Spread minced peppers on top of pork
4. Dump the rest of the adobo sauce over the pork
5. Pat chopped onions into the top of the pork; fit whatever you can, and just dump the rest of 'em around it
6. Pour the half jar of salsa over everything
7. Cover and cook on low for ~8+ hours, don't even look at it
8. Remove pork & shred (it will probably fall apart even just taking it out)
9. Strain the onions/peppers out of the leftover liquid and mix with shredded pork (you can discard the liquid)
10. Put the whole mess in a broiling pan (I use the foil ones) and broil on high for 5 minutes. This will start to crisp the pork & fat.
11. Remove, stir, broil on high again for 5 minutes
12. Remove, stir, broil on high again for 5 minutes
13. (repeat til satisfied)
14. Enjoy!
