THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

All this talk of a government furlough has me really elated that I just spent a bunch of $ on D70 parts.
Just got the official email that we will not be closing party1:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bill, the reason that you buy cheap chinese junk like the tail lights is because you're not going to care if they break.

P.s. the rmv sucks... 1/2 hour wait.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I got ALL of my lights at truck stops, and never paid more than $25 for any single one, including the large ovals I used for my rear brake lights.
Yeah, I'll have to stop by the only one we've got in the area next time I'm out that way. I just have a hard time spending $50 on lights back there when I could use that $50 on so many other things right now. So they might get put on the back burner like they've been for months now anyway.

It isn't so much that they are Chinese, Russian, Austrian, Polish, or American, it is the fact that the light output of the small lights isn't great. Finding a high lumen output <2" diameter light means money I don't care to spend.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Why do they have to be ultra high bright and awesome?

They're brake lights for a rig that never sees the street.
Dim lights I might as well not put them on. Look at Johnny's (Keene) tail lights those are about worthless.

I want them for that use. :)

It doesn't see the street, because it has no brake lights. Your causation is flawed. :D

Bill, use that trailer hitch of yours and put one of those receiver-mounted brake lights on there. :dunce:

Remind me not to wheel behind you...I don't want to be blinded everytime you nancy your way up an obstacle. :D

So...add brake lights, sell Duramax, DD XJ...?

I like it.

:D

Brilliant! That'll sure solve the issue of "proper rear facing brake lights".

Someone care to take over here? I'm heading out and I'm not going to try to explain why now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You and Colin need red, green, and white lights... not red ones.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so i have an issue with my 99xj.

i searched for quite a while and never found an exact replica of the problem. when the engine is cold i have to push the gas to get the thing to start then keep it at about 1k rpm for a while or it dies. after a few min it idles fine...im thinking one of the stupid sensors but i dunno which one

just did tune up and it seems to have good fuel pressure

try cleaning them one by one. I had the same thing happen on my girlfriends 96 but i forget which one it ended up being

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ok. ill try that. its weird cuz it started right up no problems until today. but i did drop a bunch of nasty coolant down the front of the engine so that may have something to do with it

Coolant temp sensor. The '99 did it to me as well, same issue. Basically the ECM thought the engine was warm all the time. After it had run for a minute or so it would start no problem.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

awesome. thanks bill.

and that makes sense cuz the coolant was NASTY!!!!!!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No problem, hopefully that fixes it.
Plus side is they are cheap and super duper easy to swap out.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yea im liking cheap. i picked it up for real cheap and im fixing it up to sell the heater core was clogged so a bit of compressed air and backflushed it with water...good to go. did rear brakes, tune up, now all i need is a u joint and the blower resistor and ill be selling it.

when the sensor went bad did your gauge work ok?
