THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My Solid covers were okay except for the bolts. All that broke was one of the pieces of webbing. no big deal!!!

I just think they look retarded, don't do anything protect the bolts (and why the hell do they socket cap bolts, they stick out a mile?) and the webbing doesn't add any value since, like you said, it just cracks off after a couple collisions.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

never heard.

you get this off some dude on pirate's classifieds? or beat up some kid and steal his stuff? lol
The latter would be a way better story.

But your first guess was right. All this crap for $850 to my door.

Detroit: $630, I paid 450.
Disc brake kit: $300 (told him to take 50 off and keep the rotors - a better deal for him, I know) - I paid $150.
Those fancy nuts: $120 per axle. I paid $60 for one axle.
Diff cover he paid $180, I paid $100.

So shipping works out to be sort of a lot ($90) but it is coming from across the country and the parts are heavy. Way better than the $1230 these parts cost him :)

XXXX YO SOLID/ROCKCRUSHER COVER HATAZ.

my 44 has been on my 44 for 5 years and a rear 44 for a year before that and its simply high clearanced and the lower ribs are worn down from rocks.

my 60 cover is simply shaved down with the housing.

they hit hard rocks and hold fluid.

well i cant keep a seal on my rear for too long, might have something to do with the 1/4" of housing left on the bottom though. might have to weld in some super beef stuff soon.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Rockcrusher's quality has taken a dive lately, more and more people are having fitment issues with knuckles/covers/slugs.

Since rockcrusher and solid used to hang out together, rockcrusher also has some 6 bolt keyed knuckles. Some dude got a set with the lower cap bolt holes drill out of center by like ~1/2"

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Found this in my pocket...this was me explaining to someone about hypoid offset, the Jana axle concept, and TTB steering.
The picture on the left looks like a misshapen rubber ducky.

You guys really took that Rockcrusher diff cover topic and ran... No one was curious about the RockStomper? FWIW, I think it's a rebadged Crane.

Two of my lower cap bolts were off by literally a c-hair. I could start a thread and then it would start stripping out.

I just opened up the holes in the cap a c-hair.

If they were as bad as that guys (I saw the thread) I would have definitely sent them back too.

You spelled 'definitely' correctly! :yelclap:

Can you quantify a c-hair for me? :D

A c-hair I can understand, one hole on my 14b RS cover needed just a little enlarging to fit nicely but that stuff is understandable. But when your stuff is way the fawk off its another story.

C-hair in my book means less than 1/16"

Don't look at my D20 clocking job.

:D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Italian c-hair is for larger gaps/measurements, regular c-hair is for smaller stuff.
Sounds like Colin only knows Italian girls...

Wow, A c-hair to me is a couple thousandths. (ironically, that's about the dia of a hair too)

I'm scared... The holes are probably 1/8" bigger than they need to be.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hack. :D

I don't understand how people get emotional about diff covers. It's about the least exciting thing on the whole truck.

my covers cost half as much as everyone elses. and they do the same thing as everyone elses

My covers have pink flipoffs and other funny stuff. In fact, my diff covers are probably gunna be about the only thing thats not painted solid black.

Nah no more than 1/16" off on the D20. It was such a suck job because where I had to drill was towards the edge of a flange, so the bit wanted to walk off of it. Hence why I keep praying it doesn't grenade when I go to drive it. It's the only thing I'm actually worried about.

Um...when you're dealing with things that are down in the thousandths of an inch you probably don't want to be off at all
