THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The stupid Kidde ones from Lowes/Home Depot are a waste of money. We spend thousands of dollars on axleshafts and buy the cheapest stupid fire extinguishers we can find. My friend is going tomorrow to get everything refilled...I told him to get me two more of the rechargeable ones to put in my XJ. The two Lowes/Kidde ones I had in the jeep didn't do shit to put the fire out.
a quality 3lb in reach, and a 15 lb in the back is what I usually carry. The 3lb can handle the small shit, or for a major fire, get you to the 15lb.
With practice, you can put out a good sized engine fire with a 15lb.

w00t stuff!

also, the new macbook pros came out today... 13" ones get the dual core i5... i want one.
that's a kind of a gay way to spend a couple thousand dollars. I like Colin's way better.

Just reserved a spot for some company training in Germany at the beginning of June.

The class is Monday-Wednesday...my boss asked how much extra time I wanted to spend over there, as apparently the city it's in is real nice in the summer, has some pretty cool bars, etc.

Hmm.
I am really jealous. There are some truly awesome techno and power metal bands over there that I will never get the chance to see live.

If we need something special done - an oddball voltage or power rating - those are still hand-wound. Production runs are machine-wound though. Here's a shot of one of our winding stations...
I've always wondered, how does really heavy wire get wound into stuff like alternator armatures without kinking or cracking the insulation off?

Going to Manowar on the 5th?

Going to Manowar on the 5th?
damnit! There is a good chance I'll be busy.

I'll have to see if I can fit it in. Tickets look like they aren't too badly priced.

I've been ignoring my concert listing emails because I need to spend most of my money and time on the house, and seeing concert listings doesn't help.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Glad you think they aren't too badly priced, I would much rather pay the usual $10 for the palladium, but hey, manowar said they would never come back to the us before, so see them while you can.

Edit: and of corse, its one of their 3 US dates, the other 2 are in cleveland.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I usually end up spending 25 or so for a show at the Palladium because I only go to like 1-2 shows a year, so I stick with the big names (Nightwish, Fear Factory, Static-X, etc.) I gotta remember earplugs next time, my ears have taken a beating and I want them to last.

Yikes, they're 75 bucks a head? Somehow I was looking at the wrong listing and thought they were $34. That's well above what I usually try to limit myself to :( Might still go, but damn.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i love that place.

when the bass hits hard. pieces of the cieling land on you
I love that :roflmao:

Last show was a bit of a disappointment, I went to see Fear Factory expecting some intense mosh pit action. The mosh pits consisted of open spots in the crowd with fairly overweight wannabe tough guys ripping their shirts off and stomping around macho-ly occasionally elbowing each other.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I know I loosened mine once on my D44 before torquing the outer nut to the proper spec.

But it was my own fault.

After I torqued them correctly, never had a problem, even after extended outer atmosphere adventures.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I feel like Ross saying this, but I'm going to have some fancy parts coming my way soon.

D70 Detroit, Rockcrusher diff cover (same thing as a Riddler/Crane), A D70 disc brake kit (less the rotors) and 2 sets of the lock nuts in my earlier post. Everything BNIB for hundreds less than I could get them anywhere else :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

is a spindle nut coming loose that much of a concern?
I need new ones for my D70 anyway, and he threw them in for $60 for 2 sets, vs $60 per corner. I figured at that price it would be worth it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

rockcrusher is the same as solid btw.. not riddler or crane.
F8ck me, you're right.

I was thinking of the right thing and gave it the wrong name :banghead: It's actually a RockStomper
d60 d70 rockstomper & ruff stuff diff covers

He said he paid $180 for it (his fault he overpaid, not mine) but he's selling it to me for $100. I loved the Riddlers I had on my D30/8.25 and a D60 Riddler costs a fair amount more than $100, so I think I did alright.
AKA my least favorite diff cover.
Ditto.
