Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Drain the pan and you'll only get 4 qts out.

The rest is prob in the converter.

thats why i only put 4 in.

im using the flush machine now.

i wasnt gonna take my belly skid out to drain it again

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm quickly becoming obsessed with this little YJ thing I wanna build.

Anyone have any experience with the Auburn ECTED lockers?

Also wondering what it would take for RCV to do a set of shafts for a TTB setup...

Damn it.

had one in a yj...didnt work, tried to fix it, new coil, new wiring to the switch etc...nothing. i ended up manually sliding the collar over and welded the fawker. i hear this same problem is an all too common thing. look on pirate for more answers.

I didnt dig any deeper into it because it was a waggy 44 and i could just unlock the hubs and have no adverse affects driving on the street. and i never got a chance to wheel the thing

Yeah, its mostly in the converter, plus a couple quarts in the gear train and valve body that come out suddenly when you pull the valvebody off a tranny that's been dry for months, with no drain pan in reach. This surprised the shit out of me and made a huge mess.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

well the old fluid had like 30k on it and it was vaguely red.

flushed all of the old shit out and put some new shit in with some friction modifier stuff that was sitting on the shelf at work.

my butt dyno says it's a little quicker

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

those fucking motor mount plates...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My tranny is acting up pretty bad these days, suspect it didn't like my getting-unstuck fwd/reverse/fwd/reverse/fwd/reverse/fwd/reverse action a few weeks ago. I hope I don't need to stuff another XXXXing aw4 in it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i wish i could buy bobs tranny. but the cost of gas it would take to get down there would outweigh the benefit

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No one makes a spool for a Dana 35, or the 30-spline Super 35 kit. But a Detroit Super HP35 kit (30-spline) with a set of RCV TTB shafts would be pretty good I think...problem is I think the HP35 gears crap out at 4.10s. No bueno.

Nevermind, found 4.88. Still not where I wanna be, but that could work. 8.8 out back with good shafts and an electric locker to round it out.
I remember reading a write up a few years ago where someone cut apart a D35 ttb beam and put a D44 chunk in it. I didn't really see the point when you could just narrow a D44 ttb with less work, but it is an option.

Are you planning on swapping the knuckles out for D44 knuckles? The D35 hubs are weak, and I dont remember anyone selling drive flange's for them.

Big gay dana44 ttb (aka dana50 ttb) or go home

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So, while moving my Jeep a couple minutes ago, I decided to very lightly investigate the popping noise I've noticed while turning recently. Standing next to my Jeep and turning the wheel back and forth, I can see the steering box move, while the frame stays still. This is with the C-rok inner brace, welded on stiffner, and Ross's big gay bumper brackets.

wtf?
