THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Chris do you think my trackbar bracket will be ok? Bill said he was a little worried with it just being welded to the .120" wall DOM, so I added the other .250" wall DOM and gusset to help with tearing...?
This was also before you added the gusset, but I'm still standing by "keep an eye on it".
Yeah that was my plan.
I thought you were going to sleeve the outside edge with some 2" OD .0120" wall or 2.25" OD 0.250" wall? I thought that was the plan before you started welding everything else to it. :dunno:

Edit: Nice Chris. :rof:

Nah I'm just going to ignore it and pretend it's fine all the time .

I had 0 plans to sleeve it, we talked about it at Bill's house as an option but never that I was going to do it.

Adam (XJLI) - were you scared at all riding shotgun around the loop? Because my buddy Jeff (who you met) bailed after 2 laps. Basically said F that. And he's usually pretty good for sketchy stuff. :D

scared? no way. i'm pumped that shit was intense.

and paid day holidays ftw!

Did you move your frame-side track bar mount that far ahead? With full hydro you don't have to worry about tie rod interference (so it doesn't need to be in a factory-like spot), but judging by the location of the high steer arm (barely seen in one of your pics) it looks like it will be close to the ram stroke in that position.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yup, frameside bracket hugs the third steering box bolt hole.

I placed the ram down and measured before adding anything around that area. It all clears.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I actually mocked up the ram and tie rods yesterday (didn't take any pics) before I burned on the tube adapters.

The nylock nut barely clears the 1.5 x .250 wall tube that ties into the trackbar bracket, and the tie rod clears the gusset by about .5".

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ya, I have never trued my rotors and had a problem on my front D44, and I haven't had any issues with the spindle nuts on my 44 either. Its a bit of a pain to ensure that the washer with all the holes actually aligns with the pin, but it gets easier over time.
