THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Follow up: She left me a voicemail this morning. My boxes arrived at the PO and will be delivered today. So how the hell have they been marked delivered online already?

i just had a set of HID bulbs shipped to my house via usps. they were marked delivered on friday the 11th. i figured my grandfather with his hiorrenduos memory just moved them and forgot to tell me. so I was tearing the shop apart looking everywhere (its a big place).

they didnt actually get delivered until yesterday. I was not a happy camper since the bulbs were for a customer

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The GMC HD All Terrain looks kinda... awkward.

Anthony, is that for stock 12bolt H1s? If so, is he nuts?

IMO, if you start recentering them or getting something done to them (ie, not welding your own rock rings on) they become expensive and you might as well just get a beadlock in a 17" wheel size at that point.

I'll pm you the exact details... It's probably bad etiquette to post it publicly.

Pressed centers add less than $150, and if I do the work myself that's not bad. Carmelo said the 8 bolts have a nice groove the pressed center drops into and trues itself up nicely. The part you cut also gets hidden by the outer ring, so it ends up looking nicer than if you modified a 12 bolt.

I haven't tied myself into any path just yet, but this is starting to look like the best option for wheels.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ahh, so they are modified. That price seems about fair then if you are looking at new centers, a rock ring, and beadlock. It isn't exactly a quick process to do all that work. That's "only" $250-300 a wheel. Is there a reason you don't want to run stock H1s with adding your own rock rings like me? <$50/wheel plus insert @ $30-45ea, and a rock ring @ $30ea you are just over $110ea at that point.

What tires are you looking at?

Weird. Sounds like there's a glitch in the system.

I'll agree, the shop is no small place.

You'll see in the PM. Anyone else who wants it let me know. I'd like a little more width than you have. Yes, I could just use spacers at all 4 corners, but that seems hokey. I'd still only be at ~$150/wheel if I got pressed centers and did all the work myself.

I requested a quote on 42" Rockers. I'm probably going to cry when I get it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anthony, did you look here?

http://www.trailworthyfab.com/Custom-Hummer-Wheels/

12-bolt wheels, recentered, with pressed centers welded in for $175 each.
Wow, thanks. I'll check that out. I wonder how much shipping is... For anyone else that goes there, the link isn't working for me. The parent site is though so just delete the custom-hummer-wheels.

edit: That price doesn't include the PVC insert or a rock ring. With all that I'm back up to $250+/wheel. Depending on how good their shipping prices are it would still be better than the other quote I got.

edit#2: just 'built' my wheels as I'd have liked to order them. $304 before discount.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That front bumper is hideous but the rest of the truck isn't too too bad.

I can't stand huge expanses of chrome like that.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

its nose is too big.

there better be a billiondy horsepower behind it for being so large

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I...Hate...the Rambox.

I like the idea, and I'm sure it would be nice for storage, but it definitely cuts down on the bed space a lot, and it made designing my capstone project a B.I.T.C.H.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

a senior programmer just sent us an email bc she wants to be able to VPN into the network from her personal macbook (our remote access client is windows based.. we use windows server.. blech)

i'm sorry, but if you can't figure out how to install bootcamp, install or use a VM, or hell, VPN using ANY osx client and program a tiny bit from there and remote into a windows machine, you shouldnt be a 'senior programmer'

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Chris, why couldn't I use 2.25 x .250 w DOM for my rear driveshaft, and just slug it to the stock driveshaft yokes with 1.75 x .120 w DOM?

Aka double cardan section with little bit of stock tubing left, slug into 2.25, slug into leftover stock tubing and slip yoke?

Be thicker/stronger than 1.75?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin, why dont you just shut up and cut down a stocker front shaft and retube it with 1.75 x .120? I doubt you'll have a problem, I trust mine.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You're shopping in the wrong place dude, hit the plumbing aisle at home depot, it even comes pre painted and if you use the cast unions you can replace a bent driveshaft without welding, just thread it together!

just don't try to use reverse gear
