THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh Chris, maybe you can answer this.

Heretic Fab links are $165 a pop with tube adapters (So basically $350 after shipping) for 2 OD x .250 w 4130 heat treated.

I could get 2.25 OD x .375 w regular DOM for ~$140 shipped instead.

What would Jesus do?
I'm starting to look like Jesus with my beard going all wild, so I'll chime in.

I'd keep my $190 and get DOM.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Don't get me wrong, the Heretic Fab ones are real nice, but probably overkill for what you're doing.

I agree with Anthony (ouch, that hurt), just get the DOM.

And Bill, my post in your thread about the brake hoses etc. might be the most helpful thing I've ever put on the internet. Just copied it over to another thread on Pirate and got 3 people's brake issues taken care of. :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I would also get the DOM... unless you want to be able to ignore everything and just beat the hell out of it. Are those regular DOM prices you listed including tube adapters?

Do they make hexagonal DOM?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Heretic includes tube adapters.

Adapters would be another ~$25 but no big deal. I'd just throw them in with the ruff stuff order I have to place soon for rear shackle hangers.

Basically I'd be getting both my links for the price of one heretic fab link.

They used to be like $115 a piece a year ago, that's why I had the page bookmarked.

I've seen that pop up in hyperlinks all over too. It seems to be quoted/copied a bit. Nice job! :D

@ $115 a piece, I'd entertain it, not @ $165 a piece.
When my front lowers get to the point they are causing issues I'm not sure what I'll replace them with. Probably the same 2" 0.375" wall I have out back or similar.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Don't you have to open up the 2 x .375 w to 1.5" ID to get an adapter in there?

Did you just tap yours or something Bill?

I like just slapping adapters in and welding them.

Lathe, all of 2 minutes. :)

Only my rear lowers have adapters, everything else is direct tapped.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Some of us don't have that luxury :D
Eh, whatever. Did I recommend it as an option to you? Nope. :D

Yeah, yeah, yeah. If you only saw the sketches of the plans for my new property. The bank is going to love me. :gee:
The wife already agreed (and believe it or not is pushing it more-so than me); better to get the barn done now and we can always carpet, paint, and install something other than $0.50 porcelain light fixtures in the house later.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I hope you are building that barn large enough to put your own machine shop in it at some point... :D

I'd either put a loading dock in, or design one of the entrances so that you can remove the railing on the side of a stairway temporarily and use it as one.

Am I the only one around who cooks bacon in the microwave?
Nope, I do that as well when I'm to lazy to pan fry it.

Haha, not quite that big. It will be a modest house though, 1780-1960sq ft living.

Haha, funny.

I tried the pre-cooked stuff in the microwave.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Depending on how long homework takes tomorrow night, I'll probably end up going to the 99 after.

You down Ross? I can bring your cash for the tubing.

Of course im down, I want beer and my money!

I bet he wanted to cut through the balljoints because the nuts were spinning and inadvertently took some chunks out of the knuckle.

^this. Cotter pins didn't even wanna come out. It took me longer to carry the torches over. Removed the knuckles in 5 seconds.

Light Ross on fire and send him to hell.

Me and jesus go drinking on the weekends. Im also chill with the devil, we drink during the week.

Well, pre-cooked was your first mistake. Why would you do that?

A guy I work with has family out in Shamokin, PA...everytime he goes out there, he stops at a local meat market (Masser's) and brings back a ton of stuff for people. He brought back over 50 lbs of bacon this time, of which I bought 2 lbs. Like, 1/4" thick strips.

I've had it in the fridge here at work, and every morning for the last week I've made 5 strips in the microwave. A few layers of paper towels, 2:30 on high, done. It makes the whole office smell like bacon for hours. People are starting to get pissed. :D

It surprised me that a few people here had never heard of cooking it that way before.
