I cannot think of a more inconvenient place to store my parts than at friends house an hour away in his backyard. Most of it I would rather not leave outside. Like I said, my solution is to just make use of it all. It will cost money to put it in but getting rid of the container will save me $700+ a year and it won't cost me that much to just install this shit.

I'm hopefully swapping out my driver side balljoints soon, they have like 1/8" of play in them. I get gross clunking noises on the driver side when I brake or hit bumps and my steering is "variable resistance" as well as variable ratio. Already replaced the unit bearings and pass side balljoints...

quite true, and it's actually more like 2 hours I think. What are you doing with the old tailgate?

I'm currently wasting far too much money on storage, if I could just get into my own damn yard it'd be stashed there already. 80% of the stuff in my unit is junk I can put in a yard with no worries, the rest I would jam in the basement. I HATE SNOW

Manual focus and the camera was on full manual mode. I had a bunch of light going into it, a desk lamp behind and infront/above of where I was aiming. I was using a fast shutter speed, but I was also trying to use a higher aperature to get more in focus.

You've got the right idea. What were your settings? (copy the exif data?)

ISO 800 is probably good. Try f/8-11. It will let in a lot more light but still give you a good DOF. You might be able to get up near 1/1000 which will help to freeze the water.

btw, what are you dropping into it to make the splash?

Do I care about having a sealed bumper?

I just realized that I forgot to cap the section of the bumper where the hitch is recessed into since the hitch doesn't protrude all the way through the bumper.

AKA when I did it, cut the whole and plopped the hitch in and burned it home.

I'm just worried about storing water in there.

squirt about 5 pounds of silicone window caulk on it and FIRI.

I'd weld it up if you can get to it easily, but otherwise just seamsealer/caulk or forget about it till you have it pulled apart for some other reason.

Colin, you could cut the front of the bumper out so you can get to the back of the hitch, weld the hitch shut, then weld the piece you cut out back in. It'd take more time, but that's probably the route I'd go.
