THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think Ross should add hand throttle & brake to red Jeep.

Nah, I dont really need that. Only reason I would want a hand throttle is for a poorman's cruise control. Red jeep needs other stuff first and more importantly; such as buy new ball joints, buy new UCA axle bushings, maybe buy Rick's RE UCA's, weld on TnT LCA axle mounts, install teraflex LCA's, buy new pins for the sway bar disco's, and find a nice set of 31" tires.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Adam Quenneville roofing is charging $475 for the first hour and then 250 for each additional hour for a crew of 2 guys to clean off a roof.
Really? Talk about ripping people off and taking
Dont worry, the mexicans doing the shoveling are doing it for minimum wage.
Around here, the going rate is 250 an hour, or if insurance is paying, 1400-2500 a roof.
Im going to UTI woooooo
I can say it was a complete waste of money, and I only payed 10k. Give me the 40k, and I will teach you more than you will get out of UTI. Their degree isn't even worth much. Because they pass just about everyone through, most people that come out of UTI don't know shit, and create a reputation for everyone else that graduates there.
But if your heart is set on going, make sure you do the ford program at the end. I learned more in the 15 week ford program than I did in the year of the core program.

Did I miss something? Why remove the pinion now?

We had a semi-productive day at Rob's. Good time.

IIRC he couldnt find the BOM and had to pull the pinion to figure out what he had to work with to be able to correctly order parts.

I got that, I just thought he was going to wait to order stuff so he could get stuff he really needed now. :dunno:

You make any progress today there firehead? :D

Hell yeah!!! I.......ummm........made.........ummm.........

I was bugged by my mother if I bought my bday jeep gifts yet :dunno: I think Im gunna give Andrew at Letzroll a call again and have him make me up a pair of his high steer arms.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The knuckles are coming along nicely though, I gotta either buy a cheapo outdoor gas grill or borrow someones so I can preheat and weld them up.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Drove the Jeep for the first time since wheeling in Sam's backyard. That thing sounds like crap, vibrates like a mother-f**ker, and can't stay in 4lo, and hits the fan shroud if too much gas. Not to mention I got in to a nice and wet seat.

Ross, first time I looked at the bumper in the day time, but I dented your bumper at Sam's.

You need MMs. You overcooked yours just a little bit.

Which part? Theres some 3/16" that got missed in there on spots. :shhh:

I beleive I already said it, but I was STRICTLY warned by my mother about using her new oven.

So was I.
:roflmao:

I just cleaned them off really well so there wasn't anything that was going to harm the oven or create any smells.

They were a few month old Brown Dog rubbers. A lot of the vibration was there before, but not its making a really weird noise and vibration. I checked and nothing really seemed horribly amiss with the mounts.

Dude, those were smoking. If you get anything rubber to the point that is is smoking it has lost a lot of its integrity. They make look fine, but I'm almost willing to bet they are not.

Id check them and your trans mounts.

My mom flips out on me/my dad if we cook pizza in there and spill a little bit or make it stink.
 If you can't use it to make a pizza why even have it take up space?

I never saw them smoking.

That was a brand new tranny mount as of 5 days before that trip.

Food only man. Plus, that would be a far run with hot knuckles to reach my welder.

Bill wanna teach me what I should use to mill the 14b? My plan - a 1/2" 4 fluted bit, like 300-something RPMs, slowly crank the deck back and forth and trim down a little off the housing at a time. Coolant? Anything I should do? I've got a 14b stand coming along to be able to secure the housing to the deck hopefully pretty securely. The stand will allow my to hold the axle completely upside down to shave the bottom AND hold tha axle with the diff cover mating surface up to be able to re-deck the cover surface area after welding.
