THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What year is the 44? only 78 and 79 had no tube under the wedges, if its an earlier one, your good.

yea it's a 79

Retubing will not be cheap and for that money you could find another for sub $250 all day long.

What are your plans for it?
What ever happened to those one ton plans, didn't you buy Rob's 10.25 and find a D60, why do you have a D44 now?

Plans are to either keep it stock width and run 35's with hydro assist or narrow it. But biggest tire I'll go is 37's.

I ended up selling my 60 for more than I paid, the 10.25 for more than I paid with the disks, and other stuff I bought, only thing I got killed on was my 42's I ended up selling those for like half of what I paid because they were on such a back order. It's just not the direction I wanted to go when it came down to it. I missed having a rig I could drive to the trail and drive home if I wanted to.

I have the resources to get it welded back up right with Ni99 rod for free, and for the materials to retube it would be about 125 bucks. I figured then I can keep it fairly narrow.

but I can keep the outer stuff and maybe find another hp44? What do you think Bill? I think a front 60 just isn't what I'm looking for again.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think I wouldn't run 37s on a D44 without a lot of work/money into it, which doesn't seem right to me.

(Sorry Sam. :roflmao:)

I don't think Sam will take any offense...he bought 38s not 37s :guitar:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The issue with a 60 is however that I don't want to run anything that wide... unless you know of a narrowish balljoint 60?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Really you should. Now is your chance to rig of that thing.
Those bling 50 degree steering axle shafts won't be worth it if you hit the unirail at 30 degrees. :D

:shhh: Quiet down you!!!! Ive already had these thoughts before. I dont plan on running hot-turn shafts.

Now accepting offers on my 60 :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Don't get me wrong here Eric, not everyone needs D60s. I just think that if you are starting from nothing and planning on that large a tire it could be worth it. There are plenty of people that wheel D44s and 37s with little or no issues. Heck, Andy is running something similar right now and is doing just fine (I see you reading Andy :) ).

agreedzor. lots of people run 35s locked on a D30 too.

BUT

this is why i have a 44/60 to run 35s. i want to be able to bounce on rocks at redline then drive 3,000 miles home.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Now that youve brought it up, he needs mine.
That didn't take much convincing at all. Why didn't we do this to you earlier? :D
agreedzor.
I'll admit I giggled at this word.

Exactly, pretty much bomb proof. Kinda like that weird dude on alloy'd D44s and 33s.

Pm me what you have for it and what you'd want for it. :)

Exactly, I don't consider myself a pin it to win it type wheeler so I I'm debating if I want to just settle with 35's then to keep the reliability.

And I get where your comin from bill for sure and I really appreciate the advice that's why posted up! :)

yea what a weirdo.

same here, but every so often..... yea.

i originally wanted to go dual 44s but the axles i have now were a good deal.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I like the 44/44 idea too but right now I'm looking at a 9" rear. I can get a 9" ballistic housing with center section and semi float ends for really cheap "lightly used" haha

Offers only. Its one of those deals where I'd never wanna sell it, but if I was offered enough, I'd sell it.

~64.5" width
