Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No one that I know and it has nothing to do with how much power I'm making.
Devil's advocate here; since when isn't power an issue?
Power + Lower gearing = more chance of broken parts
More power + Lower gearing = even more chance of broken parts

Unless things are setup wrong I don't foresee you breaking a HP D60 R&P up front with a tired worn engine even with a little added forced air aid.
Maybe with a V8 and water filled 40" stickies, but surely not anything a Jeep I6 is going to reliably produce.

Or if this is just an attempt to further "one up" everyone else, cool go for it. :D
Regardless of what I go with, I need to do something different than 5.38's.
Why?
I don't care how long it takes to install it. If I was worried about install time I'd have bought a TJ and bolted everything together.
This probably would have been a better option. :moon:
I'm not saying I'll be doing it, but there are plenty of stories on teh interwebz of broken D60 gearsets.
Anything even close to what you want your setup to be like?

I mentioned that power isn't an issue because I'm not changing the power that I'm putting down drastically and 4.0's aren't really all that powerful as compared to the v8's that some guys are dropping in.

They don't make 5.38's for the D70.

Tire size yes, but they're powered by bigger engines.

What the hell size tire are you planning on running?

Corey's supercharged 4.0 on 42s never broke a D60 gearset (granted he didn't get to wheel it that long). He flogged on it pretty hard those few times.

I think you're becoming like Ross where you just want the latest/greatest stuff.

:dunno: 39's-42's?

So what do you suggest I do? Regular old 5.13 reverse cut in the D60 and 5.13 std rot in the D70?

Again, so why this odd choice of setup with non-standard parts?

Me thinks you are correct. We all do, but at some point you have to cut the checkbook away from the hand (that is all we are trying to do).

Anyway, these (second part of the 1st post) ground clamps are pretty cool but to bad they are expensive. $25+shipping. If they were cheaper I could have used one a few times. I wonder how well they actually hold.

Edit: Fastenal has them for almost twice the price, but maybe we have a hookup?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Your metal guy it is.

I couldn't get any through Turner cheap enough

 I'll see what I can do....

It looks like I have to do 5.13's because that's the lowest # that was made for both the D60 & D70 or D70 reverse & standard...

Do this. Decision made, get 5.13's.

Who doesnt want the latest and greatest? :dunno:

Do this too.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What's wrong with that?

You have a friggin doubler.

You could throw 3.55s in them and be fine.
And I'd be breaking driveshafts all day long.

:dunno: Seemed like a reasonable option a half hour ago.

I have one of these. Works very well and it's the first one I grab.

We're here to spend your money but sometimes we are here to slap you in the face and make you come back to reality. :D

I have a few of those as well, don't work very well with a ground clamp though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Not if you went with 1350s or better and didn't use lame tube.

So close minded you are.

:D
AHEM

forgetting the hex bar are we?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
