Also check your back plate bolt pattern. If it's the 4 bolt pattern, cool beans. If it's the 7 bolt pattern and you want disk brakes, have fun finding one with 7 bolt holes drill randomly about. You could use weld on brackets, or you know, find a better 60...

Congratulations you just recieved a free XL dana 44 with quick change axle shafts!

Jeff at crown has everything you need if you insist on throwing that gay axle under your jeep.



You can't. The spindles are far to thin to be bored out.

The only thing cool about my rear axle is it has the same gear ratio than the front. Otherwise, it's a big dumb heavy dana 44. Any locker you buy no one will want. After market shafts will have to be custom unless you want gay dutchmans and will still be 30 spline.

Yeahhh just found this out on an FSJ forum... guess i gotta go dig out the ford 60 my other buddy is gunna give me XXXXin 3ft of snow on it and his payloader wont start :banghead:

I'm guessing the one you have is a centered diff? Not offset like a front axle? If it was offset I'd like the shafts if you dont mind. The more shafts I can collect the longer I can delay getting an axle that isn't a mistake.

Its a 4 bolt pattern Just found a writeup on the disc swap... I may still run this axle not sure is the carrier and gear set the same as a ford 60? I can also get the ford rear just gotta figure out how to extract it from its spot like I said... probably just better off going and getting that ford rear..

the 10.25 is a pretty good axle, little less parts availability than a 35sp 60 and 14b but theres def support for it

I can also get the ford rear just gotta figure out how to extract it from its spot like I said... probably just better off going and getting that ford rear..

All ford spindles are beefy enough to bore out. You would be better off doing the ford, especially since they're both free. The only difference is the ford is under snow? XXXXing wait until it melts, you plan on putting this in next week or something?

The front is a SUA LP HD44 driver drop. Same as what Sam has except bigger brakes and thicker tubes. I like mine but I paid barely over $300 and the front was rebuilt, new brakes, new locker, came with SOA kit, spare shafts and the rear had OK brakes.

Would like to get the rear asap so I can get it under the truck and get this thing rolling.. Looking like more snow this week too. Any idea as if the gears and carrier are the same between the ford and jeep 60 rears? I could put together the jeep 60 for now and build the ford then swap em

Probably the route ill go... its in a shitty spot between a 14 bolt and another 60 with wheels on it as well as wheels on other 2 axles blocked by a dead payloader and dead s10 burried in 3 ft of snow.. but hey its a free axle haha
