THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

you were boggin through deep snow at hign rpm for a long time what did you think would happen

I wouldn't worry about it either. Id be willing to bet that a few of us have gotten glowing headers before while wheeling. Most of us would just never notice/bother to check, its also alot easier to notice at night. Slow speeds/no airflow + win pedal = hotness

Yes. and I'll quit if I end up having to work that day.

Word hommie :D

mine glows before my coolant gets to 150 degrees and its melting my motor mount

so yes. i want to fix it

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the hot pocket will probably explode at that kind of heat

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The swapmeet at the Big E was lame, just people selling junk tools and companies, with a few decent overpriced things mixed in

I almost came home with a set of grabbers though, But I was able to talk myself out of them since they were only 33's
ive heard 20"

ive also heard from the weather channel wintry mix and snow showers. (im crossing my fingers for option 2)
20'' will be a problem, we will have to truck out snow at that point.
I have one section of sidewalk that I had to carry snow on with fridays snow, it just wont stack up any higher, and the 2 industrial lots have no open parking as it is right now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Productive day.
So, should I be worried about the glowing manifold/downpipe, and/or the check gauges while winching (New alternator?)?
Well since the battery was also pegging the gauge below 9 volts when you were spooling OUT, I think you need either a battery, or alt, or both.

I know the exhaust is new but check that first you did damage portions of it. Then start investigating a possible lean issue.
Ya, I remember hearing you say that it was glowing again after that.

The thing is, the exhaust manifold is about 2 years old, and every single piece of the exhaust after the manifold, including both o2 (Bosch) and cat (Magnaflow) are brand new as of late December.
Ahh, I thought you still had a stock cat. I would have bet bouncing around on the trails knocked the internals loose and plugged itself.

I would worry. Definitely not a normal condition.

Exactly.
ive heard 20"
I heard 3" to 5". :dunno:

X2 this year was dissapointing. I saw those grabbers, if they were 31's I probably woulda bought them. I loaded up on a butt load of flap wheels and cutoff wheels for dirt cheap. Alos grabbed some $1 grab bag special end mills to abuse on the 14b. I probably shoulda bought a new flexplate for the nova, but I haven't 100% comfirmed that's my problem (im very sure it is though).

so when your beating thew shit and putting lots of stress things shouldnt be glowing red? marks is from his snow bogging sams i have no idea whats up with that

i spent all day in the loader moving piles at our shop and neighboring driveways. i plow in south kingston and we have no place to put the snow. i need to the a truck and backhoe down there cuz moving it with a 1yd skid steer will take me 3 weeks haha

I heard 3" to 5". :dunno:

theres 2 forecast models...again
inland one RI area gets annoying crap, more in the ocean we get hammered again, and then another possiblity is way out to sea and we get a few inches

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Dirty thoughts are brewing...

Should we have a build off, see who can finish a project first, me or Anthony?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ross is butt hurt he didn't get to come to Bill's today apparently.

:tears: Im jealous Chris was there, you other guys are lame.

I bought cutoff wheels cheaper then youre place. Not even HF/cancer-causing ones either ;)

I almost even thought about that "other project" I own. Damn chevy.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Well that battery is an Optima Yellow top, a few years old, and one of the ones made in Colorado. I don't think its bad, but I haven't had any diagnosis on it. The alternator is stock, and sat running under muddy water more than once, and never cleaned.

I know the exhaust is new but check that first you did damage portions of it. Then start investigating a possible lean issue.
Well the only damaged portions were the tip was bent in a little, and that section a foot before it that was bent in some. I don't think that is to blame, because I think that happened after the first time we noticed it was glowing?
Ahh, I thought you still had a stock cat. I would have bet bouncing around on the trails knocked the internals loose and plugged itself.
Nope, when I was doing the exhaust over Christmas break, I was trying to remove the cat from the downpipe, and all the internals were falling out.
I would worry. Definitely not a normal condition.
I don't know, could be what Rob said for me, but I don't remember that ever happening before.

But you're too scared to make a build thread. :dunno:

No, if I did any build thread, I would do it after (or after I've completed a sizable amount of work), to actually show I've done something besides make a nice sticker collection.

That is how I did the build thread for my axles and HP44.

Its not the progress you're scared of, its of how derailed it'll get by us :D
