I have a build thread going, but it's pretty lame and is in mod tech so no one bothers to derail it.

Funny thing is, I'm putting more money into the MJ than the 96 these days. Only have a few more things to buy though (a pair of lubelocker gaskets and a pair of balljoints, I absolutely hate doing RTV on axles.)

Yup.

Leaf springs = cheap/easy to me. I'd like to keep them that way.

If I'm spending any money on the rear suspension it's getting linked.

I thought I would share. Granted this was with my new riffle, and at just over 20', but still the majority of the 29 shots (1 dud to make 30) are in an area the size of a quarter. I like it.

Nice, but need more details Mark. What rifle? Depending on what it is 20' could be like hitting the target with a ballistic missile from that range. You couldn't miss. :dunce:

yea. and 2 bushings flex better than one bushing

and u cant have a super sweet shackle angle without shackles

Dat be mai problam. My (stock) shackles are at a 90* and I already have a little more lift than I want in the rear. I'm pretty much thinking I need reloc boxes but I started looking at the sliders and I could prob drop my lift about .5" and not have to worry about shackle bushings that I know are also toast.

Just build fancy shackle brackets and a fancy shackle and set them up to give you the height you want with a nice angle.

Box in stock shackle box, make two tabs forward/down from where it is now.

Lose some lift, and have a better shackle angle.

most aftermarket springs are a little longer than stock making for a nicer shackle angle.

most aftermarket springs are a little longer than stock making for a nicer shackle angle.

My RE springs were the same length as stock which made for a crappier shackle angle.

heres my hackery

that shackle is a little too flat, but i was runnin it that way to keep my pinion angle decent while im too lazy to cut and reweld my leaf perches
