THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've gotten into it with both him and greatwhite a few times in the past for that reason...oh well.

He said with shitty motor mounts his 'exhaust through the frame hole' only moves 1/4" up and down.

Funny how he said that before the rig even moved and had a chance to load the drivetrain with any significant torque.

I mentioned it as something just to look out for, having run the same flexible coupling on mine for 4 years now. And suddenly it's 'vette's theory is busted blah blah blah' when it's moved a total of a few feet in its lifetime.

Not my problem. Carry on.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I also love how his joint shanks are sticking out like 2" and they don't think it's going to bend due to some blah blah amount of psi of blah strength.

Why the hell would you pull the threads out that far to begin with.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It's shit like that that screams "I'm a webwheeler".

We consider those joint housings a wear item. I've replaced 4, with about an inch of shank exposed. My friend who races the RCQ has gone through 12. Finally made new links that barely have a thread showing above the jam nut.

When I say those joints hold up - I'm talking internally, and externally if installed right. When I've replaced the housings I've re-used all my guts each time.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I can imagine. I understand some of the engineering behind some of the stuff, but a lot to me is just common sense.

I mocked up my control arms to have between 3 to 4 threads showing past the jam nut.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

better flex too, the 1 link I ran for a few days flexed so well I could unseat coils at will

wait, that was a 2 link. I guess a 1 link would be even better.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone have terms really specific to their industry?

Just had one that took me a second to think about. "Peckerhead" refers to the terminal/junction box on an electric motor. Usually one used south of the Mason-Dixon line.

"So on this motor, can I set the peckerhead anywhere I want to?"

:dunce:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

we have plenty. I rediscover them every time I talk to someone not versed in electrical engineering and their eyes glaze over instantly.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

jeepy does not lke 15w oil in this weather looks like ill be changing it tomorow in the snow storm, and the batt drains alot faster in the cold

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just had to drive to Carver and pull my uncle out of the snow. His Tundra was on his work site, down a snow covered hill, with a layer of ice under the snow. Went to start the green Jeep and the battery was completely dead, and after the 30 minute drive when I started winching the check gauges went on. Maybe time to upgrade alternator.

Hey Colin, you remember when you asked when I would need a winch line extension when I was talking about that ARB kit? I could have used one tonight.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Do you know what model it is?

I can cross-reference the side gears, maybe, but parts are notoriously hard to come by. Should be less than that difference if you can find 'em though.

I'll see if I can dig up the parts numbers first.
I sent an email about one that is listed.
This is one of them, nobody seems to have any model numbers listed.

They pop up for around $99 for the locker every once in a while, but the one place that offers to upgrade for $190 lists them for $200 most of the time. I figure that if I am going to spend $400 on it, I may as well spend the extra $50 and buy a brand new one

GSG-522, which shoots .22 rounds.
Looks like a fun little gun to plink with, I have been looking at the AR-22s a lot lately, but usually whenever I have the money to buy one, I find something at the gun shop I want more. Thats how I ended up with my LCR .357 mag

Everyone is afraid of my LCR. People who shoot feel the weight of it and think its going to have a ton of recoil, and people who dont shoot usually get scared away by the 6" of flame that comes out the barrel.

One person from the class on Saturday shot it. I loaded it up with .38's the first time, the second time I gave him 4 .38's and 1 .357. He ended up shooting 2 .38's before he got to the .357, and after he fired the .357 he handed the gun back to me and said he would stick to the .22's
