THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Maybe I'm just tired, but I just bust out laughing at this one!
I'd have to agree with what is being said here, spooled rear and lockright front and anything hard packed means I'm going to be backing up. While I've never had a rig that was the other way around, I'm sure it would turn easier if those rear wheels weren't trying to be heading the way I didn't want to go. It was cheap and works great on everything but sharp corners. Of course I'm sure my mile wide rear tires don't help much either.

Maybe its just I want to agree so that I can just swap that spool for a selectable at some point when one of these clowns buys it for me. :gee:
ill buy it whenever you wanna get rid of it, seriously(the spool)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'll have to make damn sure that f250 has a 10.25 and if I'm lucky it'll havea LSD I can rebuild and run for a while. And spool the front with locking hubs maybe?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh. I thought you were saying your butt wasn't the fatt one.

Bill's XJ's butt is like an apple bottom. It's a little big, but everyone likes it. Rob's is just obese.
its no obese, its a nice ghetto booty, obese would be a rockwell rig

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

im curently at some shitty mcd's in pa had 2 bites of a burger and felt sick

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anthony should change his user title to Butt Lover
I've heard enough stories about the 8.25 Aussie screwing up, and at the time I locked mine there was no other option for a lunchbox locker...

Naw, and here's why: I'm a boob guy.

I stand corrected.

only sucky thing bout the trip is all my cd's are at home cept Orgy Candyass wish i had more music to listen too

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, maybe it was the first batch of them, but Bob went through 3.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

 this is going to suck. My plan is to keep them warm by putting a few bundles in the jeep at a time with the heat cranked. It also seems to stay around 30 to 40 degrees in the house with all the doors and windows closed these days, and the starter shingles seemed relatively flexible even without being warmed up. I'm getting 30 or 50 years because the architectural ones look better, but yeah, not really sure I believe those numbers or put much stock in the warranty.
Never really had too many problems with cold shingles splitting when nailed
Your also Going to want to keep more than a few warm at a time. A roll of plastic and a small propane heater should keep a room in the house warm enough to do the trick.
Another thing, make sure you have a good supply of quality razor blades on hand to cut 50 year shingles, you will need them. Or if you can come up with a paper cutter, they work great for cutting your starters and anything else you need to mass cut.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ugh, I want to go work on my MJ.

I'm starting back up at the gym today though so I don't think I'm going to have the time tonight. Probably will tomorrow night or something.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Unfortunately, my newly-given powers do not extend to changing user titles. Damn. :(
That's quite the relief.

Colin posted what I was worried about though :(

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm so leavin at 6am for nacfest no traffic and id b there by noon whos with me

Oh, FYI for those wondering, there is no official date yet until a couple calls are made to ensure the weekend, but it will be announced soon.
Just hearing people mention NAC fest gets me all warm and fuzzy inside. Can't believe its only January i cant fawking wait for it
dislike the lock-rite in front (really chattery on corners and makes bad noises in the snow) but gets the job done
the first time i locked up my front tires in the snowstorm with my aussie up front i thought my XXXXing front end blew up again. then i found out it was "normal" for it to make awful death sounding blow up noises

yeah i think billy broke a shaft sliding one tire on ice and the other one having traction.

EDIT: or blew up the locker, which is currently in my d30

i like big butts and i cannot lie

FIFY.

For the record, I never broke a D30 shaft. Went right for the gold.
I haven't either, unless you count rusty-ass brackets. Hell, I'm still running gross dried out stock 297 joints and I haven't blown anything up yet. I blame the ATs for that, because I've been trying... when I find my box of jeep parts that has the spicers in it, I'll be swapping the joints out.

i loved my detroit in the front. it was always silent and always worked flawlessly til it blew up

spool in back was fine, didnt like leaving my tire tread on the ground every corner i made though.

detroit in the back works. but i dont like the street manners too much. it can be "jumpy"
You should see the tracks the M54A2 leaves. When I turn the steering all the way to the stops I leave visible tire tracks on the asphalt even with open diffs in the back. When I used it to help a friend move (we fit ALL his furniture, and half of his belongings, in the truck in one trip) I happened to park on some nice new asphalt, it was like 75 degrees out and turning the wheels from lock to lock actually tore chunks out and left a tread imprint in what remained.

Starters I bought premade - 40 bucks for a board, covers around 120 feet of eaves, I have around 100 feet. Worked out perfectly.

razor blades - I keep a 100 pack dispenser of Stanley blades on my desk at home and another one sitting in the center console of the MJ, and carry two utility knives at all times.

paper cutter / heat - hmmm I might have to rig up a heater... don't have a paper cutter though. I'll be buying a couple boards of the ridge cap shingles (believe I calculated I will need 5), they're cut from the same colored stock but no tabs or cutouts just straight shingles.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

We used box cutters to cut the shingles for my grandparents' garage roof a few years back. But it was August.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

By starters I mean the starters for the row, not the bottom and sides
With architectural shingles, make sets of shingles in 6 inch increments from a full shingle down to a 6 inch piece

Thats what I usually use, but between the cold, and the fact that the 50 yr shingles are thicker it takes a bit more effort to run the knife through them. The cold also can make the shingle want to separate instead of break at the cut if you aren't most of the way through
