THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

chyea

and apparently on some forums you add applications to them where you can give a mod or admin access to everything. private messages aint so private anymore.
I'm not surprised. I'll bet that whatever server you use for email could get at your stuff too.

Can't you get the address through paypal? Just figured if you were sending money to someone it might show their address. Just a possibility but I haven't used it in a while.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's easy if you're a mod... I'm a mod on the UMass forum and I can look up who posted and from what IP. 5 mins with google and an IP addy and you'll have a house address.
all this gets you is the address of the datacenter or PoP (point of presence, usually nearest telco office) that owns the IP. Usually that means the isp's HQ unfortunately... a bit od digging with whois will get you an abuse contact address you can demand an address at time x for ip x from, but good luck with that unless you have a court order in hand.

For instance depending on what day it is, geo-ip thinks I am in washington state, socal, or new york, since my cellphone's IP is allocated via DHCP from whatever pool of tmobile's IPs happens to have an available one.

What you are suggesting works great for smalltown ISPs with real people working at them, on people who run their own ISP (a friend of mine did for a while), and back in the early 90s, but gets you nowhere with huge modern bureaucratic residential ISPs.

What an IP can get you in the case of tech-paranoid flake sellers is that they think you are suparleet hackor and fold, give you your stuff, and its over.

probably the best idea yet.

Other ideas - google that username, find related usernames, track down email address, creep facebook profile, etc etc. At some point you will find something you can dump into whitepages.xom and get a maybe-accurate phone number.

I know it is too late, but this is why I only do deals in person, for cash, unless I know someone or have good reason to trust them (friends with people I know, I know where they sleep, etc etc)

Just finished tossing the disc brakes on the 8.25, it is nearly ready to go in the MJ... swap was way easier than I expected but damn do 8.25s ever hurt when they fall off your tailgate and take your arm with them. Gonna be sore from that one tomorrow.

Did a bunch of cleaning and organizing of my garage, now my XJ fits in there again, and I can walk around it. I pulled it in to dry out over the night, then I'll proceed to start fixing it maybe tomorrow, so I can get it inspected and go wheeling again.

Well, my chili turned out friggin fantastic. Definitely the best batch I've ever made...and it may have taken over as the best recipe among the guys I wheel with regularly. Everyone was very impressed.

I found out my power inverter is good enough to handle the slow cooker on high, so I had it cooking away on the center console of my Dodge as I was driving down to the party. :D

I honestly don't know what I'd change for the next one. I'll probably do the same thing again and keep better track of the spices etc. Might cook some to bring into work on Thursday.

Let's do this

No idea when, but anytime johnny is up for a run and I have time...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh and mark... there is what appears to be an absolutely beautifully restored m715 parked at the sturbridge state police barracks on rt20 at the 131 junction these days. I see it every time I drive back from my house, it makes me want it badly.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so Mia and I went to see The Fighter tonight, it was a cool movie, and it was filmed right in the next town over :) and I guess the screenplay was done in part by a guy Mia had as an English teacher, cool as well. I was slightly dissapointed though, I thought the pickle was going to make an appearance but didn't :( In the scene when they get back from Las Vegas and are riding around in the limo, I was driving home from work and saw them going back and forth filming that. I had to wait at that light forever hah. Anyways, yep. I enjoyed it
Ward's daughter worked at my Longhorn for a while, pretty cool person!
