THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

haha it really is. Can't wait to get it in. It took me almost 3 1/2 hours to get there but only an hour and a half back

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It was in Huntington. I think his name was Jep?

lol.

FWIW, I've been on Long Island once, and I've no desire to repeat that experience. I'll take NJ over it...which holy shit, says a lot.

I've got a rant for tomorrow that all of maybe 2 people on here will appreciate. :D Makes themangeraaaaaaaaaaaad's hard drive woes seem like common knowledge.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm debating going to the car wash and doing my oil change in one of the bays.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So apparently falling asleep at 1900 after a near allnighter means I wake up at 6 with no alarm.

Oooo, I like that too!! Im probably gunna punch myself in the face if I realize the shock body interfers with the top spring plate.
mock it up and see if it fits first?

This was discussed with a friend after I posted that.
It would be better marketing with multifuel, advertizing that I can fuel up with my used fryer oil. :chef:
I shall do this when the time is right.I'll want you around when I start looking at them:worship:
I'm better with the 5 tons but I never mind looking at OD iron :D

Went to long island and bought an 8.8 tonight. Got some weird looks driving my Jeep through midtown manhattan.
awesome, I love it when people have no idea what to do about a vehicle, the moment of them trying to figure out what they just saw gives you some time to get around them

I still find it hilarious. I am actually very proud of how awful my welds were. I have actually never seen welds as bad as what were on my shock mount. The first time I pulled out my welder and pulled the trigger my welds were better:jester:
now that I'm a bit better at welding, I should put up pics of the ghetto hack that held my right LCA on for a year, and actually survived my screwing around at camp uj when everything else broke off instead.

Some guy wants to buy $300 in parts from me
do it up, you'll have a t18 in no time at that rate

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh I didn't look closely enough.

Anything less than double shear on your black heep and you're gay again.

Of course!! Im thinking tabs on top of the spring plate with a big hole in the wheelwell with a fancy tube mount inside. I have no idea what I wanna run for shocks though, Ive always just had el cheapo white shocks, and Im pretty theyve all said skyjacker. Im looking forward to stepped up to something nice, deffiently remote resi maybe Bilsteins or something :dunno:

definitely do tabs, they also will make that 5/16" live a lot longer. I'd toss a 1/2" tall 1/4" plate rib along each outer edge plus the shock tabs (with wide bases) and call em done.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Not really at that cost!
Plus, while the 10.5 has better aftermarket support than the 10.25, it is still massive underneath a Jeep.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm so happy with how clean my garage is :D Now if I could just get those ladders out...

I'm going to make the cart for my 110V MIG tonight. I've dealt with not having one for long enough.

Sweetness. I did get your pics last night btw, the shaft looked purple in the pic you sent me  Not sure how hot you got it but it looked ridiculous.

I don't think I'm going to bother replacing the front output shaft. Getting that snap ring out looks to be a PITA and if that thing explodes I doubt the rest of the internals are going to be ok enough to drive out on the trail with them.

It was bright orange. It was hot as fawk. I just sat with the torch over it for a while, rolling the shaft around and keeping the torch moving till it was all glowing.

I think your decision to FIRI is a good one.

I should have sent you a pic of how tidy the garage is now. Remember when you were tripping over all mah crap? It's like a whole different place now.

Adam, new mattressses are sweet.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I hear that... I'm feeling a cold coming on too. ;)

Well, whatever this was about.

fawking bullshit! So some asshat in Ireland decided to put words in my mouth and email my boss saying he "is bitterly disappointed with the update Scott just provided...blahblahblah..." and that (apparently) I said we know the root cause of a problem that we are working when I explicitly said that I have not yet received an update explaining the root cause and agree we shouldn't implement & agree on the fix until root cause is understood

What I actually said was that our guys found a likely fix and that I have already sent several additional drives to confirm said fix, etc... and that I would advise we schedule a call on Thursday to discuss whatever the root cause may be since I don't have all the details available right now.

I only figured it out because my boss asked me a few questions about what I had said during the call and read the guy's email to me laughing about it (and my boss knows this guy is a bit ridiculous at times) so I don't think I'm in any deep shit... but still, pisses me off. And that's not even the start of it. Even worse is that it took the customer an entire week to get some drives shipped for analysis and then he bitches at me that we haven't fully completed analysis and implemented a fix in 2-3 days after we (finally) received the drives Shit like this is one of the only reasons I'm having a hard time quitting cigarettes

Indirectly related to what I assumed were hard drives, anyway.

I'll get mine up in a lil bit.
