You guys think a bolt welded like so would work for a shock mount? I'd probably add a little gusset or something to help support it too. Clearence is the other issue Im worried about

my u-bolt plates are beefier than yours! :eyes:

I'd bevel the head at a 45 degree angle and throw boogers on it until it doesn't come back off.

Since Ive already got a bunch and Im a cheapass and in a hurry, Im gunna TRY flat 5/16" and see how it holds up, time will tell.

black jeep will get 1/2" plate :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i dont mind the whole part about driving an 8spd and rollin' smoke :greensmok

if i weren't explicitly not allowed to drive the trucks as the "engineer", they'd probably put me through CDL school and have me drive the trucks around and shit. i'm kinda glad though, since they have people with zero CDL experience go straight into driving huge, top heavy, 80,000lb pumps and shit right off the bat. our sand bins are enormous, i'd never want to drive one of those XXXXers.

and i've got pictures of the pumps rollin' smoke, but i can't post them up on the interwebs because there is enough controversy with the hippies and neighbors i can't post up publicly.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think if you make a triangle shaped gusset from the side of the leaf spring mount to the top of it, drill a hole and weld the bolt to it, and then weld the gusset to the leaf mount, it'll be cool. You'll have a nice flat surface for the shock to sit on. DOOOOO IIIIIIT!!!!

Oooo, I like that too!! Im probably gunna punch myself in the face if I realize the shock body interfers with the top spring plate.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

at least they don't have the rookies driving the hazmat trucks (diesel, acid: 28% HCL, nasty stuff) before they get the endorsements.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

.!.:D.!. its only red jeep, it doesnt need the next level of awesome.

Its only getting some stocker XJ sensa-tracs with the axle mounts raised 3" to account for the lift

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Single shear shock mounts are for fags

^This, and that is putting it nicely.

my shock mounts are single shear and they hang below the axle. all that's happened is the nut is getting eaten up a little, but i'm sure I can get it off. You 2 are a bunch of pansies.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

For those of you with co2 tanks, what did you pay for your setup and from where?
