don't forget big friggin mountains, wildlife, plenty of personal space, the freshest air you've ever breathed (i think the marshall islands had better air, FWIW), good economy, awesome people, good beer, midnight sun, and unfortunately a lot of bugs in the summer.

AK sounds pretty much like NH supersized... or NH and CO combined supersized. Too bad I could never find a decent tech job there.
I could find a decent tech job in CO, however. But housing prices are far too high for my liking.

Oh... and my cellphone takes better pics than my camera, at least in my opinion. Truly sad.

The cellphone has no optical zoom (afaik) and takes slightly blurrier pictures, but at least it doesn't do that horrible multicolor mottled "my lens is covered in ghostbusters slime" effect.

btw, i disagree. the images your camera takes are much sharper. when you come down here next week bring your camera and i'll clean the lens.
no no... when i say mountains, i mean 5k footers with 250' bases right outside the city. a 'big' mountain out there is 8-10k+ with a 750-1000' base. they don't make them like that around here or in CO.

It took pics like that when I had just removed it from its box
Not sure it's worth cleaning at all.
I only recently found it, I thought it got lost in my move or stolen. Turns out it was under the back seat of my XJ. It is currently coated in dust from fall crawl and requires a date with some compressed air before I even turn it on again.

i don't know if you can tell, but your cell is neither focused on the ground nor the head gasket. your cell pics are quite obviously cell phone pics. the camera looks like a camera. i don't know if you'll remember, but i'll bet you the flash fired in the pic you posted. if you want a decent camera, watch craigslist for a used point and shoot. you should be able to get a halfway decent one for $30-50.
