THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm emailing random people on craigslist that list any sort of aluminum material for a scrap piece I may be able to use. When Ken get's the chance he's gonna pick up a 44 install kit for me. I'm going to attempt to have a new transfer case(w/ twin sticks), 4.10 gears, front springs, rear shocks and fuel injection for under $400. Anyone know a line on some used 44 4.10s?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Carmelo, try PBB. people give stuff like that away over there...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I can pick that kit up for you tonight if the guy selling it can meet around 8 or 9, just pm or text me the location and/or phone number anytime before then. I'll be heading to southeast mass tomorrow night so I can probably drop it by sometime.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Carmelo, I think you might need a new carrier for your D44 if you're jumping from 3.73s to 4.10s.

The carrier break is 3.91 IIRC.

PM Eric on FTR. I gave him my old lockrite with the carrier (too lazy to take it out at the time, the rollpin was stuck).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I believe Colin is correct. I forgot about that. Didn't they make some thick-cut gears though? Or was that only for 60's?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

They have thick cut or the 3.92 carrier. I'm obviously looking for either. If they're used i'm assuming i'll stumble upon whatever is needed.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Carmelo, my contacts have managed to procure a piece of metal of the required dimensions but they're not sure if it's good enough (i.e. it has some holes in it that may be in bad spots.) I'll be taking a look at it tonight.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just messaged eric hopefully he still has it

Cool, hopefully it's in a spot near the edge or in the middle where i'll have to make two biggish holes.

I don't understand why ME's have to take an electrical engineering class (probably because all of us have no clue what is going on, and we think of electricity as black magic). I just got out of lab, I guess you can burn out LED's...

definitely, they become DEDs then... dark emitting diodes.

The number of green LEDs I have succeeded in getting to emit orange light (and even yellow sometimes) before expiring is, well, fairly large!

EDIT: Carmelo, yeah I'm hoping the holes end up matching up with something that needs to be drilled/milled out anyways.

That's exactly the reason why. I learned a lot in my EE course, though I wasn't very happy about it at the time.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bitchin, now I need to find some cheap/free 4.10s and a dana 60 install kit.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I remember when that Hum song came out and I was listening to Pantera before a lot of people had even heard of them. I was working at a college radio station when Cowboys From Hell came in, it never made it to them. I also remember Pantera started as a glam band.
