Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Carnage report from last nights figure 8 races

of the 5 cars we brought, 3 got knocked out of the heats they were in. After the shops total domination last year, we were targets for everyone. 1 front tire, knuckle, control arm, and axle ripped off last years winning car, 1 car got hit hard enough to split the trans case, 1 car got hit and broke the battery box, causing the battery to short out.
Myself and one other were running at the end of our heats, I was told I was third, not bad after being turned around 3 times and going over a lap down at the beginning of the race, car still runs, its just about 8 inches narrower on the passenger side door area, and heavy damage on the front bumper.
The other running car was in good shape for the 2nd year in a row, but it was slow, so I disposed of it in the demo derby after the races.
I only have before pictures, trying to find pictures of the race, and I will grab some of the carnage shots next time I am at the shop

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so I realize why I don't mind being DD when we go to Boston... it's a hell of a lot easier to be cheap.. and even if I don't DD I end up staying pretty sober for one of those "just in case" moments

...I tried to drink a good amount and quite frankly I'm not drunk by any stretch of the imagination (I was the one giving the DD directions home) and I spent over $100 between drinks and door charges.

Worst part is we left one bar that was dirt cheap (1.50 PBR drafts) to go to some other bar/club thing and pay $10 at the door and $5.50 per beer for the rest of the night.

Oh well, was a fun night either way. I haven't had an expensive night out in town in quite a while so I shouldn't complain.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

fixed!

yesterday wasnt to much carnage, but today we broke a ton o shit
Fix noted!

True, but for the mean time (now anyway, until the fix) all you haters can't rag on me for not doing front digs! :roflmao:
The Jeep has been thoroughly washed and is now back inside. I've still got to clean the inside and my truck.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Its not really nice to say that you broke something, then not tell those of us who weren't there what you broke.

Fall crawl is over, your back, it is now safe for you to spill the beans.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

you dont deserve to know what happened cuz you wernt there, and you had zero excuses to not be there mark

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yes, my excuse was I'm not in a NEA club, and I spent my entire day yesterday in my computer lab doing school work.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm home safe Nd sound... annnnndd let's jet say the next time I go wheeling, I dont plan on driving to/from the trail in the jeep ;)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Fall Crawl was AWESOME!
hell yeah it was!

the hints are in his post and his signature!

Because in exchange for working on things other than your jeep during the day, they give you green paper that can be traded for jeep parts, pizza, and beer.

Drove the 96 to work. It survived. Therefore I will beat the piss out of it this weekend and hopefully not break anything important.
mission successful

cricket cricket...i cant wait to hear some carnage reports. whether alchohol or rock related
stuff I broke:
Driver rear door no longer pretty (tapped it pretty lightly on a tree while turning due to muddy rocks. 1" more space and I would have missed it)
Rockers clearanced and somewhat reduced in mass
Frame rail(s) somewhat smashed
Muffler smashed but still working
Rear driveshaft polished on a couple rocks
Tranny crossmember mashed a bit
Front skid mashed pretty well, had to bfh it to make my swaybar clear it again
D30 bashed into everything
Tie rod bashed but fine
Rearend bashed into things
Tranny pan bashed in a bit
Front fenders both tooled up a bit
Came down HARD on my front bumper and bent the driver side worse than the passenger side was when I got it
Mashed out my driver corner blinker
Dented both front rims but not badly enough to matter

Oh, and 30sec into the trail my gas tank vent hose split and fell off the tank and gas went everywhere when I was on a sidehill. That's the only one that really pissed me off, trying to fix the stupid thing while holding everyone up.
I saw it was no longer at the fire station so I guess you moved it to someone's house?
yeah moved it to john's place tilll
I have time to fix it. Should be soon, and all parts are in hand now

shiiiit i think i may have to go check this bad boy out, it's only like 10 minutes from me. KEN!

not a fan of the seats or bumper and you might want to shop around, but I support this idea

Just made it home under my own power. Bounced the 96 off everything Saturday, it was great. I was the only one without a winch and never got stuck. It was me, sheepjeep, a zr2 on 33s and stock suspension (did pretty well!), and a bunch of yjs/tjs/ljs/jks. Everyone else was being very cautious, winching when needed, etc... we represented uj/nac wheeling style pretty well. At one point I accidentally took a bypass, realized after, backed up and went for it, got out to survey the damages and was asked if I had any lockers, then told I had no business being on that section of trail and that they'd get a einch set up. Took a look around and planned, backed up a bit, 3 point turn and 30 seconds later the guy was going "umm well I guess that works too." A few of the rocks in there are why my bumper is now symmetrically bent.

Swamping out the jeep, welding in the rest of the floors, fixing the tank vent and maybe tc shifter... where are we wheeling next weekend?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i did go check out that deuce and a half, thing was pretty sweet. i won't buy it though, i need a truck but something that will be a little more practical. i'd have to call that thing a toy, and it would certainly be another money pit that i don't have time to mess around with. guy has been getting like 20mpg on the sucker though, on used motor oil and shit he gets for free - which is pretty awesome.

one of the service supervisors at work apparently rolled his truck yesterday, which makes me really sad. thing was a realll nice, black, CTD 2500. i have a real good feeling they are going to total it out, and i may try to sly my way into buying it off them if possible and fixing it up. pics to come soon

edit: this is the truck:
