THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

why am i at work right now?

Because in exchange for working on things other than your jeep during the day, they give you green paper that can be traded for jeep parts, pizza, and beer.

Drove the 96 to work. It survived. Therefore I will beat the piss out of it this weekend and hopefully not break anything important.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Damnit. I was supposed to be trying to get out of work around 3:30 so I could be home and working on the Jeep by 4:30... now I just got out of a call and I am expecting a call around 4PM to discuss releasing a new code rev. :smsoap: And then there's the possibility I have to hang around even later and assist in loading the new code to many drives.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Too much computer mumbo jumbo. Get a job like mine. I work at a grocery store and if I don't feel like answering a phone, I don't. And everything carries on as it was. I have a set schedule and the only time I don't leave when I'm supposed to is when we cut hours and I go early. .!.:D.!.

because otherwise they wouldn't keep giving you paid days off :(

I need to use my vacation... I've taken maybe 2-3 days of my 15 days a year so far this year, and I still had 2 weeks leftover from last year (but only 1 transferred over.) Soon as I manage to buy a house I'm taking a week vacation, then back for a week while I determine what I need to do next / take a break, etc etc.

On the plus side, 5 hours till I bail out of here and finish prepping for Fall Crawl. What's the address for the campground or where can I find that info? :dunce:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Whoever's not going to fall crawl is manually ghey.
FTFY. because automatics are even worse.

on that note, i won't be there.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I may have to rig a manumatic shifter for the 96 this evening so I'm just bi instead of lastara then :eyes:

if I decide to do so, expect me to be 30min later than previous estimates

Ken, I saw one running driving m54a2 in the middle of no where in alaska and then a handfull others sitting and dying on the side of the road slightly closer to civilization

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

get the m54a2 all set ken?
sorta. It's parked at jeepcj/xj's place with the head gasket still badly blown, but I have all parts in hand now. Probably will work on it some this week or next weekend.

hmm... alaska is a long long drive to get one :eyes: are you sure it was a 54a2? the 35s look pretty damn close to the same (size, grille, and air cleaner + exhaust location are the only real way to tell aside from measuring stuff, especially from a distance) and are MUCH more commonly seen.

Every time I drive through Fitchburg on my way to Johnny's place I go right by the fitchburg national guard garrison, they have a whole row of assorted 6x6s/10x10s, including some with super singled rear tires. It makes me really wish I could afford to drop 1200 bucks on tires right now.

Which one of you guys wants to buy one next? I'll help fix it whenever needed and if you break down I'll tow you home in exchange for the same :roflmao:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i took a picture of one of them just for you. exhaust was a single stack on the passenger side. can't remember how big the air cleaner was. either way it looked to be in pretty good shape and had new-looking NDT's.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

M54 - fuel tank is behind the driver side step / in front of the intermediate axle on the driver side. There is a similarly sized toolbox on the passenger side in the same location.

M35 - some tools go where the fuel tank is on an M54. The spare tire goes where the toolbox on the M54 is.

M35 has 6 lug wheels, M54 (and all other 5 tons, actually) have 10 lug wheels.

M35s take 9.00x20 NDTs stock, M54s (and all other 5 tons iirc) take 11.00x20 NDTs stock.

Air filter housing - it's on the passenger front fender on an M54A2, I believe it's under the hood on an M35 series. On the M800 and M900 series (5, 10, 25 ton trucks) I'm not so sure.

The blackout headlight is below the driver side standard headlight on an M35, while it is above the driver side standard headlight on the M54A2.

Those are the only real noticeable differences other than size (diff dimensions, height of vehicle, length of vehicle) I can think of.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

we'll see when i go home and look at the picture... i'm not sure what it is because he was filling a tank on the pass side but it was a 10-wheeled monster...
